At the training grounds of the high school, Maki, Inumaki, Panda, White Zetsu, and a slightly gloomy Yuta Okkotsu were gathered.
"Everyone! Eyes on me!" White Zetsu suddenly shouted, dramatically tearing open his red cloud-black robe.
"This here is my newest underling!" he boasted, proudly pointing at the wriggling, worm-like cursed spirit coiled around his waist. "You can call it Caterpillar."
The group stared at him in speechless disbelief.
"White Zetsu, what the hell are you doing?!" Maki scolded, storming forward with a training staff in hand. "According to the school's jujutsu regulations, all curses must be exorcised! You're lucky to even be allowed to stay here! I'm sure nii-san made some kind of deal with the higher-ups to guarantee that."
"You've got the nerve to flaunt this thing around the campus? Are you trying to get yourself killed?!"
As Maki raised her staff, preparing to strike him down, Panda quickly intervened.
"Whoa, hold on! Maki's right, White Zetsu," Panda chimed in. "If you keep acting this reckless, the school's higher-ups won't tolerate it."
After spending some time with White Zetsu, Panda had grown somewhat fond of him. Though a cursed spirit, he wasn't like others—full of hatred for humans. Well, aside from being overly dramatic, boasting, and showing off...
Inumaki gave a small nod, muttering, "Salmon."
Meanwhile, Yuta glanced nervously at Maki, who looked ready to explode, and then at White Zetsu, who grinned smugly. With both hands raised, he hesitated. Should he really get involved in this family quarrel?
"Relax, relax~" White Zetsu waved dismissively. "This little guy is the spoils of war from Mirai after he took down Suguru Geto. The higher-ups already knew about it yesterday."
As if trying to calm the others down, White Zetsu patted the squirming cursed spirit's head. "It barely has the strength of a Grade 4 curse. It couldn't hurt anyone even if it tried. It might even get stomped by a sorcerer if left unattended."
With his head held high, he added, "But don't be fooled by its weak strength! It has a unique ability that's pretty handy."
As he spoke, the scarlet caterpillar spirit opened its maw wide. White Zetsu, grinning mischievously, reached into it.
"This thing's stomach is like an interdimensional storage space—super convenient for storing things."
With a flourish, he pulled out a nearly two-meter-long three-section staff from the creature's tiny mouth.
"Ta-da! This is the cursed tool 'Playful Cloud,' the same one Suguru Geto used yesterday!"
With one hand holding the staff, White Zetsu gave the worm-like creature another pat. The cursed spirit shrank visibly before being swallowed back into White Zetsu's belly.
"My little buddy here can shrink in size, making it super portable!" He flashed a grin full of jagged teeth. "So, what do you think? Pretty impressive, right?"
Just as White Zetsu was basking in his moment of glory, Maki effortlessly snatched the cursed tool from his hand with a swift movement, almost causing him to trip.
"This is mine now," she declared, clearly pleased with her new acquisition as she swung the staff around, completely ignoring White Zetsu's protests.
Since the higher-ups were already aware of the situation, Maki no longer felt the need to worry.
"Damn it! Maki, you thief! I'll curse you!" White Zetsu fumed, pushing against Panda's sturdy arm. "Panda, let me go! I swear I'll deal with her myself!"
Panda held onto him, trying to calm him down. "Take it easy, White Zetsu. It's just a cursed tool—let her have it. Besides, if we let you go now…"
Panda leaned in closer, whispering, "You'd still lose to that woman, you know."
In the midst of all the commotion, no one noticed White Zetsu's phone vibrating inside his discarded robe pocket.
———
"Mirai-sensei, are you really that afraid of dying?"
Gojo Satoru smirked as he looked at Mirai. "I agreed to your request, but you still want to set up a binding vow?"
"Seems like you're really worried about something happening in the domain."
"And is there something wrong with that?" Mirai rose from his seat, adjusting his black robe. "This way, I don't have to worry about you pulling any tricks in the domain. And you don't have to worry about me using Megumi as leverage afterward."
A binding vow, once established, must be followed. If either party broke it, they'd face severe consequences. It was like the pact made between Sukuna and Yuji Itadori—the terms had to be upheld.
Mirai wasn't afraid of dying, but to achieve his goal, he couldn't fight back while inside the domain. He would need to endure the damage passively. And with the domain's guaranteed hit effect, if Gojo suddenly lost his mind, things could go south fast.
After the vow was made, Gojo's expression shifted, and a mischievous grin spread across his face.
As Gojo began to unwind the bandages covering his eyes, Mirai's pupils contracted, transforming into blood-red symbols in an instant, 'This guy really held a grudge…'
Gojo's fingers came together in a mock gesture of reverence, a sly glint in his eyes.
"Domain Expansion: Infinite Void"
In an instant, a surge of immense cursed energy erupted from Gojo.
A black sphere of a barrier expanded rapidly, enveloping both Gojo and Mirai. Everything around them, including the room, crumbled into dust in seconds.
———
Piano keys, flickering lightbulbs, speeding trains, burning forests, thunderstorms, a vast starry sky…
Endless fragments of information surged into Mirai's mind like a torrential flood, overwhelming him in waves.
There was no escape, no way to avoid it.
The fragmented information flowed violently into his brain, relentless and unyielding. His body was frozen, pupils trembling, as he stood inside Gojo's domain.
"What's going on?!"
The group on the training grounds turned their heads sharply toward the sudden loud noise, followed by a terrifying surge of cursed energy.
After the battle yesterday, their nerves were already on edge, and they instantly tensed up.
"That direction… Mirai-nii?"
Looking toward the rising cloud of dust, Maki's expression tightened as she gripped the cursed tool, Playful Cloud, and sprinted toward the scene.
Panda and the others hurried to catch up. "Maki, can Mirai-sensei expand a domain?" Panda asked urgently.
Maki didn't answer right away, but Panda had been with the headmaster long enough to recognize the situation—it was Gojo Satoru's domain.
If Mirai couldn't use a domain himself or escape from it, by the time they arrived, it might be too late.
Maki's pace faltered slightly. She hadn't wanted to reveal any of her brother's secrets, but seeing the seriousness in Panda's expression, she sighed and spoke. "A few years ago, a strange, massive tree suddenly appeared at the Zen'in estate. It looked like it connected heaven and earth, but disappeared in mere seconds."
Panda nodded. "That must've been when Mirai-sensei first awakened his domain. What you saw was the manifestation inside the domain."
"Wait for me!" White Zetsu shouted, hurriedly grabbing his robe and sprinting after them, eager to see what chaos awaited.
As he ran, he glanced down at his phone vibrating in his pocket.
Just as he exited the training ground, everything suddenly went black.
