After that weird encounter in school with Midnight giving me false hope of a reward if I won, I went home with the mindset of cultivating. Using a huge sum of money, I got my hands on some expensive spiritual herb that I ate before going into the meditative pose. The passive income I was getting was helpful. The next thing I knew was that time flew by in a blink. It was morning, and I broke through the Earth realm.
My Chi grew exponentially. I could use techniques such as Buddha palm repeatedly without falling on my knees due to exhaustion. I turned my head and looked at the corner of my room. There were details that I hadn't noticed before. My eyesight had gotten so strong, and I wasn't even having my Sharingan activated.
The cultivation method I was training was focusing more on the physical part, so I knew that by breaking through, I had at least gotten stronger twice or more. I took off my shirt and looked at the mirror, my muscles barely getting more defined.
Taking a near nail from the table, I tried to scratch my skin, testing a theory. Only a scratch was there, no wound, meaning that my skin got tougher.
'That's what I love, Defensive offense.'
With a smile on my face, I wore my school uniform before taking the bus to school. The festivals wouldn't happen at 8 am, but school would.
Today, we only had a homeroom class, nothing later, where we were tasked to relax. All of the other classes were allowed to participate, even if they weren't from the hero course. It was a one-time chance for those who wanted to become heroes but weren't lucky enough to pass the entrance exams.
After the homeroom class, we were tasked to change our clothes to the gym clothes before heading into a bus, which took us a few kilometers away into a large stadium. Many buses headed along. As we stopped and entered the stadium, I noticed that there was a crowd around cheering. Wow. Many people must be really bored to attend a sport event this early in the morning.
Me and other students, wearing the same uniform, got into line and stood in front of the plaza.
At the middle of the plaza, Midnight was speaking, before pointing with her hand. "And now, the one with the best improvement rate, Mirio, may come and say a word."
I turned my head to a blond muscular boy who was about 180 cm. I knew him. Mirio, he must be someone from class B. Others may not know it, but this guy in a couple of years could grow to someone who could fight on par against high-end Nomus. He, after all, was a part of the future Big Three – high school heroes who had strength that surpasses most professional heroes.
Mirio smiled and ran toward the plaza, holding the mic. Smiling, he said, "I hope we all have a good day, and we could all laugh if someone fell in a funny way. Other than that, good luck. And be easy on me." His words earned giggles from some, and some wondered if he was okay. But that's just Mirio, someone with awkward humor.
'His quirk would be worth a lot. Man. To be like Obito Uchiha and transfer dimensions.' I thought about profits. Who could blame me? People think of their own before the others – except for Midoriya and All Might. That's not the point now. Looking at the plaza, I saw Midnight explaining the rule for the next game.
It was a race game, like in canon, where students from different classes would have to run through the terrain. Midnight left out a few details such as the traps that students would face on their way. The commentator, who happened to be Present Mike, the hero sound, would explain those things when they appeared. They surely knew how to make the audience in suspense – except for the fact it was a repeated game. Maybe there would be different traps.
I went to a racing field. Looking in front of me, I knew that there were a few miles before reaching the end.
Then the commentator announced the start, and everyone started running forward.
Mirio and others on their way found robots appearing. The other students used their quirks to fight them. As for Mirio, he went past them.
I looked at the one who could clear the race easily because of her ability to fly.
Nejire. She floated in the air and started running.
A giant building-sized robot overshadowed me, and I had an idea to clear this race quickly.
Channeling my energies, I jumped on the gigantic robot, reaching its head, before making a large leap toward Nejire, landing on her back.
"Hope you don't mind, or that I make you uncomfortable. If so, I'll jump down," I said to Nejire, who just realized she was carrying me on her back.
"You didn't even say that when you helped me squatting," she replied with a giggle, making me remember the time I grinded my crotch against her butt. That memory had been intense to me.
"What can I say?" I chuckled as I sat, impressed that she could handle my weight. Well, I was just an average height man with muscles, so I couldn't be too heavy.
"Don't fall," Nejire said, flying in zigzag patterns and giggling.
And then, she started rolling while increasing her speed. I, in that moment, was happy to have something called chakra. As for Nejire, she was totally enjoying teasing me to take a fall from 20 meters height.

Meanwhile, Minoru's family were watching their eldest son participating in the festival.
"That brat. He's lazy for sure," said the father. "But he's strategically correct."
"Mah, mah. He barely leaves his room and spends his day from sleeping to school. I guess it's good since he's getting close to her. But that's lazy and weird from him."
"He's not weird. He's not lazy," Mineta commented, tears filling his eyes, "He's a lucky bastard."
Mineta got a slap across his face.
"Mind your language."

By the end of the flying trip, I arrived at my destination. It was time to say goodbye to my hostess.
"Thank you for the ride," I replied. I thought of grabbing her cheek, but there were cameras around. So I backflipped and landed on the ground between a minefield. Nejire turned her head and her blue eyes gave me one last stare before she finished the race first.
"It doesn't look like she enjoyed it as much as you did," said a sneaky voice.
Lowering my head, I saw a bunch of clothes moving. On the ground, there was a face of Mirio, smiling at me.
"You think I messed up?" I asked for his opinion honestly. "I'm not a big guy, so I don't think it's a problem."
"You used her and abandoned her at the finishing line; I'd be upset if I were her," Mirio said.
I knew that I shouldn't hold onto his words since he liked to joke, but I couldn't help but reconsider.
Would she think I abandoned her? No. If she did think so, she would have said it. That girl can't hold her mouth from making remarks on anything.
'Damn Mirio. He's made me paranoid. That guy is a devil.' I thought as I crossed the line, chanting something to get the devil's voice out of my head.
