Melanie was a wild one, and she had gone beyond what I had imagined. Sending an assassin after Sylvia was not part of what we had planned. When she made the proposal, I imagined she was only playing around and had strictly forbidden her from such a move. But it was clear now that she hadn't listened to a word I said, even though I made it clear to her that I wouldn't tolerate any physical harm coming to Sylvia.

The moment I received a call from Michael Black demanding I call off the meeting I knew something had gone wrong. I didn't need to question him any further to know that Melanie had probably done something. And even when he informed me that Sylvie had been hospitalized, I wasn't entirely shocked. All I could feel was rage, and I wasted no time in confronting Melanie for her misconduct.
