章 121: That's An Apology I Can Get Behind

Neither of them registered the sound of the key in the front door until it opened and Kayla walked in. She averted her eyes as they guiltily jumped apart. 

"Don't mind me! I'm only here to get something before staying the night at my boyfriend's. Carry on."

Eden's face burned with shame. She hadn't been caught in the middle of making out with someone since she was in college. And it had to be her roommate of all people, who didn't even know she was dating anyone. She probably thought this was a random hookup. 

Kayla left less than two minutes later but she was still too mortified to look Jonah in the eye. "…roommates are the worst."

He coughed awkwardly. "Well, she is going to be gone for the rest of the night so do you want to forget about the movie entirely?"

Yes, but could she really get back into the mood after being so embarrassed? "Maybe give me fifteen minutes to forget about my humiliation first."
