章 200: I'm Glad We're Friends

Roman was extremely reluctant to get out of bed the following morning. Penny was curled up against his chest and had an arm slung over his side as their legs were tangled together. But his alarm clock reminded him that he tragically needed to go to work.

He disentangled himself as gently as he could and kissed her forehead before getting out of bed and replacing the covers. She sighed and shifted positions but remained asleep.

Normally, Scarlett was such an early bird that she woke up around the time he did, forcing her mother to get up then too. He wasn't about to disturb her rest when she got to sleep in for once. He had been a bit too enthusiastic last night so she was probably exhausted. 

He nearly tripped over Dixie, a Siamese cat, while going down the hall in the dark. He was sure to turn the light on before attempting the stairs.
