Excruciating pain ripped through me, threatening to tear me apart. Although I hated for Logan to hear it, I couldn’t hold back my groans as he sped down the dark road, clutching my hand tightly in his while his other hand gripped the steering wheel.

“Just breathe, baby,” he said, his voice calm and soothing. “We’re almost there.” He looked into the rearview mirror at Seven, Siren, and the biker in the backseat. “We’re going to the human hospital.” Translation: no talk of wolves and shifting in their presence.
“Oh, my god!” I screamed, biting my lip as another pain tore through me. “Logan, the baby’s coming fast! It’s too early—”

“No, it’s okay,” he cut me off, making a sharp turn toward the left. “The baby’s a little early, but shifter pregnancies aren’t as long as humans.”
