I shuddered to think of what could have happened if I’d been a few minutes later. “I promise I’ll make it up to you.”
She scoffed. “You have got to be kidding me!” She motioned around her. “With all this? You’ve done nothing but shower me with love and generosity. Sweetheart, you have nothing to make up for.”
“I’m just sorry I left you alone today—”
“Logan, stop,” she cut me off. “You have nothing to be sorry for. You saved me. I was nearly killed or raped when you came in.”
