Mom shook her head, a small smile lighting her lips. “No, sweetheart. But your father’s downstairs. I could send a guard—”
“No. Thanks, Mom.” I shook my head. “I don’t want to see him.”
“Look,” said my mother sternly. “You have to let him escort you to save face between the Packs. If he doesn’t escort you, it will cast a shadow over your father and our family.”
“Oh, I’m going to let him escort me down the aisle, don’t get me wrong,” I replied. “I just don’t want to talk to him until then.”
“Sweetheart, your father can’t help that he’s an Omega—”
“His status makes no difference to me,” I cut her off. “But him giving me to Logan to pay off his debt is unforgivable. Also, he had plenty of opportunities to improve his status, but he didn’t. He didn’t even try!”
