“Oh, my darling! You look a fright!” Keisha led me into my suite and closed the door behind us. “Go take a shower, slip into a robe, and we’ll take it from there.”

“Oh, no!” It was one thing for them to play Dress-Up Barbie with me, but quite another to quite literally dress me. “The wedding isn’t today.”

Keisha and Ahnna, my hairdresser, looked at each other, their eyes wide. “Darling, the wedding’s tonight.”

“What?” Okay. Now, I was officially freaking out. “I knew it would be in a few days, but I had no idea it would be tonight!”

“Yes, it is.” Keisha let out a deep breath, considering. Then a broad smile spread across her face. “So, shall we get started?”

She popped the top of some champagne, but I refused. “I’ll take some sparkling grape juice instead.”

Keisha looked at me for a long moment, her eyes bugging. “You’re pregnant?”

“Shush!” I chuckled, shaking my head. “Don’t tell everyone!”
