The beast nodded, taking a sip of his soup. “And what is your truth?”
I let out a deep breath. If he rejected me now, then so be it. “I’m the daughter of an Omega who was trying to raise his status for us, his family." I dabbed at my lips with my napkin. “The people of my Pack shunned my family and me, so we moved to a house of our own away from the Pack.”
His eyebrows rose. “Your father went rogue?”
I shook my head. “No, we were still members of the Shadowcrest Warriors Pack, or at least, I was until now.” I let out a deep breath. “Anyway, my father bought the restaurant in order to give us a better life.”
He took a sip of his wine, clearly intrigued as he listened.
“So, I have no secrets that you don’t already know or haven’t figured out.” I tilted my head to the side. “Could I have some soda or juice? I can’t drink champagne now.”
He chuckled. “It’s sparkling grape juice. It’s not champagne or wine.”
