Hello again, here I am.
----------------------------------------------
Dave returned to the second floor to explore it further. "Looks like an office," Dave thought as he examined the bookshelves and the small sofa in front of a desk with several old, illegible papers.
Dave ran his hand over some of the books on the shelf, but every one he touched instantly turned to dust, much to his dismay. "Is there nothing useful here?" With this thought, Dave took another look at the desk and found a present wrapped in magical paper.
With a slight pinch, the present opened, revealing a book, a letter, and a perfectly intact ring. Without hesitation, Dave grabbed the letter and opened it, and to his surprise, he seemed to be able to read the letter's language despite never having seen this type of writing before.
(For my dear niece....
Your beloved uncle has heard rumors of a possible demon counterattack against our capital, so I will be busier than usual defending the city and won't be able to visit you on your birthday. But don't worry, I will be sending a present through Edward, my young squire.
With love and care, your Uncle Harry.)
"I guess that skeleton was the squire," Dave thought as he picked up the book and read the words on its cover.
(Basic Introduction to Fire Magic.)
Curious, Dave quickly opened the book, but all he found were complex magical symbols on various pages until the end, with no additional information. "How does this work?" Dave wondered and touched the pages but found no explanation.
He soon returned to the first page and found a small line of text with just a few words: "To absorb the spell, apply mana to the page." Dave repeated the words in his mind and decided to test it on the first page, which had a simple magical formation.
Soon, mana flowed into the page, and the ink on the page glowed for a moment before becoming transparent and flying towards his head, entering his mana stone. "This is..." Dave immediately felt a simple flow of information entering his brain, explaining how to gather fire magic to perform a basic spell.
"This ring must be a conduit then," Dave thought as he put the ring, which had a small red gem engraved on it, on his finger. He then circulated mana through it, thinking about the spell he had just learned. "Flame," Dave recited in his mind, and a small magic circle appeared above his palm, forming a small flame that soon extinguished.
"This will be very useful," Dave thought, but after checking the mana consumption, he briefly gave up the idea. "This simple spell consumed 20 mana in one go," Dave complained and decided to temporarily abandon the idea of using fire magic.
Having fully explored the location, Dave left the building and decided to continue exploring the city. "The previous battle was very dangerous; if the opponent had been equipped with the same quality gear, I probably would have been defeated." With this thought in mind, Dave decided to keep killing skeletons and leveling up while exploring the city.
----------------------------------
Several hours later.
Slash!
(Level Up!)
Dave precisely cut the neck of the last skeleton. He was now in a sort of plaza with a broken statue in the middle, the ground littered with the bones of the skeletons he had killed.
"Phew, finally at level 10," Dave thought as he sat down on a bench in the plaza before opening his status screen to check the changes from the last few hours.
---------------Status---------------

--------------------------------------
Dave observed the new changes in his status. "It seems like level 10 is a turning point," Dave thought to himself as he analyzed it. He instinctively knew that he could choose a class or evolve just by thinking about it, but it seemed like an irreversible process.
"What should I do first? Evolve or choose my class?" Dave pondered. He still had little information about this world's system, so with this in mind, he decided to ask a professional.
"Mr. Hero, I'm glad you called me again. Hoho, I see you've already reached level 10. You're evolving quickly, as expected of my champion!" The Goddess's voice echoed cheerfully in his head when he mentally tried to call her name.
"Yes, I reached level 10, but now I'm unsure whether I should choose the class first and then evolve or evolve and then choose the class. Will there be any difference?" Dave asked, and there was a moment of silence before Juveline responded.
"Well, yes, there's a significant difference! You see, all races have a predefined maximum level limit they can reach. Evolving is essentially breaking those limits and making your body more adapted to the path you choose, but this applies more to other races that have a much higher level limit than yours. Therefore, in their case, they always prioritize class selection first to strengthen the path they are on."
"I understand. So, in this case, if I choose to evolve now without selecting a new class, I might gain a special class, but I would lose the long-term benefits of class evolution." Dave's mind quickly processed the information he received, and he soon deduced a general idea.
"You're quick to grasp things, but since you belong to a new race, I have no idea what you'll evolve into or what classes you'll unlock." The Goddess explained, and Dave remained silent for a moment, pondering what would be the best outcome.
Soon, he made his decision.
