"I had no purpose. If your dad hadn't saved me, I would have died back there." Arnark said, feeling goosebumps on his skin upon being stared at by Zaira, only now realising that she had changed in the span of a day.

For some reason, he felt a tinge of fear while making eye contact with her.

Zaira stared at him for a good minute before concealing her mana fluctuation, turning around as she uttered coldly, "I feel that you're telling the truth, but a Demon cannot work with us, given the state of things. So…"

"Thank you for your service."

"Wait…" Arnark's face convulsed in response before he stared at Zaira, "That's it? I've been with you for almost five years. And what? You're telling me this just because I'm a Demon?"
