章 49: Chapter 48: Obito
"It seems that I'll have to go to Orochimaru when I have time and collect all the corpses of the third Kazekage," Uchiha Natsu murmured.
After all, the Sandai Kazekage, known as the strongest Kazekage in history, must have a very high corpse score.

The Scorpion trembled, and his breathing became rapid, glaring at the clone of Uchiha Natsu on the tree not far away.

"Do you still want to escape?" Uchiha Natsu's wooden clone snorted coldly, slapping his right hand on the tree trunk beside him.
"The art of wood escape!"
This basic wood escape ninjutsu allowed the user to infuse chakra into the surrounding trees or the ground, enabling control over them. While not as powerful as the big forest technique, it proved useful in this situation.
The big tree next to Uchiha Natsu's clone squirmed and transformed into a massive windmill. The windmill rotated slowly, picking up speed until strong winds blew away the dense fog. Sasori and Kisame, who hadn't run far, were exposed.
"Damn guy!" Sasori cursed secretly, turning around with Kisame.
Once their figures were exposed, they couldn't afford to leave their backs to the enemy; the risk of being attacked from behind was too high.
"Oh, it would be embarrassing if we were planted here," Kisame remarked, looking to the left, where four Konoha Anbu were approaching. To the right, the huge windmill had stopped.
The Scorpion gritted his teeth angrily. Falling here would damage the Natsuo organization's reputation. Having executed an assassination mission, they hadn't even seen the target's face before being intercepted.
"It would be embarrassing if we die here," Kisame added.
Moreover, the Scorpion didn't want to die. If he did, he wouldn't have turned his own body into a puppet.
Ignoring the approaching Anbu team, Uchiha Natsu's wooden clone continued to reach out to the Scorpion.
"Wood escape, the technique of the great forest!"
The wooden rattan reappeared and shot towards the Scorpion. The Scorpion, terrified and furious, shot his tail at the rattan simultaneously, hitting it fiercely.
"Pfft!"
Sparks splashed, and sawdust flew. However, the Scorpion's tail was no match for the wooden cane. As the Scorpion realized that his tail was about to lose its hold, he instantly retracted it.
The wooden rattan continued to charge towards the Scorpion.
"Boom!"
Sasori and Kisame Hoshigaki used substitution techniques to narrowly escape the rattan's attack. The rattan slammed onto the ground with such force that it blasted the ground into cracks.
In the distance, the approaching Anbu team stopped suddenly. Kakashi, the team leader, had a shocked expression under the mask.
"Could it be the person from the root?" Kakashi wondered. However, judging from the wood escape ninjutsu performed by this person, the power and armor were not at the same level at all—like the difference between an adult and a child.
"Who is this person?" Kakashi stood on the spot, signaling the team members behind him not to approach easily. Activating the Sharingan in his left eye, he looked at Natsu Uchiha's avatar standing on the tree.
Kakashi, witnessing the surging chakra in Uchiha Natsu's split body, was even more shocked. He had never seen such a large amount of chakra—almost ten times his own.
However, Kakashi didn't know that Uchiha Natsu's wooden clone had used a significant amount of wood escape ninjutsu, and the remaining chakra was a result of huge consumption. The wooden clone already had half of the body's chakra, and the 50 jōnin chakra combined couldn't match any of the wooden avatars.
On the big tree, Uchiha Natsu's wood clone constantly sensed the chakra in the body.
The consumption of the wood dragon technique was alarming, directly taking away almost half of his chakra. However, this might be related to the technique's full usage. If controlled with a bit less power, the chakra consumption could be reduced.
Reflecting on this, Uchiha Natsu's wooden clone looked at Scorpion and Kisame, who were retreating vigilantly. Forming hand seals, he carefully controlled the chakra.
"Wood escape..."
At that moment, next to Sasori and Kisame, the air twisted suddenly. Immediately afterward, a figure covered in black matter appeared.
The figure grabbed Sasori and Kisame, shouting in a rough voice, "The leader sent me here!"
Sasori and Kisame were startled at first but were overjoyed when they heard the words. The black shadow grabbed the two of them and disappeared directly into the twisted vortex.
Natsu Uchiha's wooden avatar frowned and canceled the use of ninjutsu. Though the black figure's entire body was covered in black, resembling a clay figurine covered in mud, Uchiha Natsu recognized it.
The vortex was Obito's Mangekyou Sharingan, Kamui.
Usually, Obito appeared in Konoha as a masked man. This time, he dressed differently, likely to avoid Sasori and Kisame seeing him in a mask. The substance covering Obito's whole body was probably Zetsu.
After all, Obito and Zetsu often acted together.
Turning his head, Uchiha Natsu's wooden clone looked at the Anbu team not far away.
