"10 days before the incident, Somewhere in the no man's land along the border something like the dimension crack appeared, it was first discovered by the soldiers patrolling along the border. It was classified and only a few people knew about it."
"A team of researchers were sent there to investigate what was going on. I was part of that team. During search and sample collection from the surrounding area, we came across a strange device or should I say as it was a really advanced injector pen, something we have never seen before."
"It was covered in blood. We found fingerprints too, when we searched for those in the database your fingerprints were a match but by the time we learnt about you, you were already in a coma."
"But your samples were taken and what we learnt was there was nothing human about it. Your sample was nothing like a human."
"Are you even a human?" she asked, staring at me.
"I don't know anymore." I said, looking up at the sky.
"Our team was there keeping an eye on you, but you did not recall anything of the past 10 days, but you were spotted in the south mountain in a CCTV camera, which we were able to find out before that incident."
"I went there to investigate if something was there, since you are a link to what is going on."
"So, Kim Meonjeo, what is going on?"
"I Don't Know"
We started to walk again checking the cars as she told me the rest.
"This city has been completely sealed off and no one is allowed here anymore, the Government is annihilated, and the armed forces have taken control of everything."
"I sneaked In here to investigate what was going on but when I went to the hospital where the incident took place, it was in ruins."
"So, I went to the mountain to investigate if anything was to be found there and while I was there I saw them and hid, but those people spotted me and came after me, so I ran and tried to send a SOS. "
"And rest you know. I don't know who these people are."
"Where is that Injector pen?" I asked
"Where is it?"
"I Don't Know" she said.
"Oh, here is a petrol car," she said.
I opened the fuel door, the keys were still left in the car. So I wondered if it even had any fuel left. but thankfully it did.
And I was able to get a half a Jerry Can full.
But syphoning petrol is really something. After hours or going around we were able to get enough of Jerry Cans filled.
We managed to secure enough gasoline for now, thus we settled down, but it was not just the time for us to collect fuel.
"By the way, what did you do in the team?" I asked
"I was an observer directly reporting to the top"
"Who do you think it is" she said
"What did you do exactly?"
"Let's save it for sometime later" she said.
But plans never went as planned although we had wanted to leave the place that day. By the time we came back from collecting gasoline it was already evening..
So, After we came back I cooked us a great meal of beef and rice, our one last supper at the superstore before we left it the next morning.
I went to collect motorcycle parts just in case the bike broke down after that and we both picked clothes as well.
We sat under the stars at the Terrace of the superstore.
"Do you think the world would go back to normal again?" She said,
We both remained silent.
That night we slept on the floors just In the sleeping bags, when the dawn came we left towards the city's exit on the bike.
This is one short chapter, sorry for that.
