Those who hadn't checked their talents and were older than five years old could join the talent scouting event, but they could also choose not to join. 

"Please line up according to your family title and then your age. Start from the one with the highest title and then the youngest." 

And so, the noble children lined up according to their family's title from a duke to a baron.
