章 64: Chapter 64: Planet Cereal.

Turles exited his ship on his own two feet on the moonless planet of Planet Cereal. On the side of him were two little Namekians admiring the sights of a new planet. The natural beautify forestry mixed with the strange bubble-like domes covering the cities. Inside those cities, the small Sugarians going about their businesses and living life as happy as can be. Turles hadn't actually got around to conquering this place. It was a side mission next to his actual reason for being here.

"Are we going to conquer this place?" Dende nervously asked.

"I suppose. Do you not want to?" Turles responded.

"I-I was just curious…" Dende replied while avoiding eye contact.

"If you're worried about the safety of the Sugarians, you have nothing to worry about. No harm will come to them." Turles picked up on Dende's feelings. "There is more than one way to conquer a planet. Violence isn't the end-all-be-all solution to every problem." Turles chuckled.

The two Namekians both turned their heads to look at him in disbelief. Oh dear, Turles hasn't been setting a good example for these two if they think of him as some sort of bloodthirsty cruel monster hellbent on destruction and violence. There's more to being evil than that ignorant understanding of it. Turles shook his head. This simply won't do. He had high expectations for these two kids. Almost as high as his own children.

"How about I show you a different way of conquering a planet?" Turles deviously smiled.

Dende and Cargo weren't exactly excited, but they were curious. While they have been learning a lot from Turles ever since they were brought into the PTO and worked as his interns, it's been a very painful and violent endeavor so far. Turles trained every day, and as his interns, they were not exempt from this. Not even his children got a break, but Cargo and Dende realized that they actually looked forward to training every day ever since they could change their hair yellow.

Dende didn't understand what was so fun about fighting and hurting yourself. Cargo, as a budding warrior Namekian, somewhat understood. It wasn't about fighting and hurting yourself, well, to him at least. Cargo just wanted to see himself progress and become a better warrior. The other parts were just a process for that goal.

"But before we do that, we have to deal with something else first. I'm going to need your help, Dende and Cargo." Turles whipped out his Dragon Radar before tossing it at Dende.

"How can we help you?" Dende curiously asked, nearly dropping the device.

"Not now, but later," Turles explained.

The two nodded as they began thinking about what they could possibly help Lord Turles with. He was the strongest person in the universe as far as they knew. There was very little he needed help with. Even as his interns, they barely did anything besides train and learn how to do paperwork. While Turles could make clones of himself, he explained to the two that it would be better to learn how to delegate their work than get used to relying on themselves for everything. An emperor wouldn't be a very good emperor if he had to do everything himself. That's what subjects were for.

Dende and Cargo took the lead in this dragon ball hunting adventure. Dende carried the radar, Cargo was the hunter, and Turles used the time to scan the planet with his scouter. He was uploading its information into the PTO's data bank. The climate, atmospheric conditions, geography, temperature, lifeforms, the average power level of the planet's inhabitants, etc. As they traversed the peaceful landscapes of Planet Cereal, the two little younglings were enveloped in a sense of wonder. The forested areas revealed a multitude of colorful and exotic plants. It was a far cry from the sights that typically filled their days.

Cargo's eyes constantly scanned the area for any sign of the Dragon Balls. He lifted boulders, flipped the earth, and shattered mountains as they made their way to the dragon ball on the radar. Dende held the Dragon Radar, calling out which direction to turn whenever they needed to. Moments like these helped Turles remember these two were still just innocent children. Even if he slaughtered their kin and forced them, the remaining survivors, under his rule. They still could smile, laugh, and enjoy life as children should. It was remarkable that they weren't self-destructive husks of revenge and bad decisions. Toomel's bewitching technique was a lot more effective than Turles thought… Perhaps he should bring her along as an emissary when he travels. If violence or bribery weren't enough, seduction was always worth a try.

The Sugarians they encountered while hunting for the dragon ball were a friendly and contented bunch. The small, axolotls-like humanoids went about their daily lives, smiling and greeting them with warm hospitality. Their quaint villages were a picture of harmony and kindness, and it was evident that violence and turmoil were foreign concepts to them. A small part of Turles urged him to rain down destruction on the planet. Show them the true meaning of fear and pain. But he didn't listen to that part of himself. It was illogical and brought no benefits to himself. Assimilating them into the Planet Trade Organization would be far more efficient with peaceful diplomacy.

Eventually, Cargo and Dende found the first dragon ball on this planet. The two excitedly danced at their success before looking to Turles. "Well done." He didn't really think it was anything worth being praised about, but did it hurt him to increase their loyalty to him? Cargo and Dende beamed after being praised for something outside of fighting. "T-To the next dragon ball!" Dende called out. "This'll be a piece of cake!" Cargo slammed his fist into his palm.

Turles maliciously smiled as the two children had no idea what was in store. He knew exactly where the final dragon ball was. He knew whose possession it was in. And he knew exactly how things would turn out if he tried to handle things peacefully with the two who lived in that home. When they arrived at the small quaint home at the top of the hill with a view of the Sugarian's city, they could sense two lifeforms inside.

The Emperor of Universe 7 politely knocked on the door with his tail swishing behind him. An unusual, frightening smile was adorned on his typically cold face. Dende and Cargo both were uneasy at the sight of Lord Turles like this. Their bodies shook as they felt one of the power signatures coming toward the door. Cargo and Dende's jaws dropped when they came face to face with a familiar look of green at the door.

"There are more Namekians alive…?" Cargo was in disbelief.

"I-I-I thought we were the last ones…" Tears pooled around Dende's eyes.

Turles noted their behavior. It seems his near execution of their race was weighing down on them more than he thought. Hmm. His plan might have to change quite a bit now. These two looked like they were ready to jump into the old Namekian's arms.

Initially, when he was landing on this planet, Turles was planning to kill Granolah, incapacitate Monaito through Dende and Cargo, and, while Monaito was being prevented from killing himself, Turles would make a wish on the dragon balls. Once he got his wish, he would order the two to exterminate Monaito and then assimilate the Sugarians under the Planet Trade Organization's control. A pretty effective and smooth plan, Turles would say. No dragon balls in the universe for anyone to misuse but himself, with the only Namekian that can make dragon balls in Universe 7.

Furthering their loyalty to him was a slight hassle, but whatever. He did say he was going to show them a different way of conquering a planet. Might as well start with these two.

Considering his plans for Dende and Cargo, Turles couldn't let anything go wrong in his efforts to manipulate them into serving him with their full heart and soul. Killing Monaito was for insurance. Although, he wasn't truly afraid of anyone usurping him. It was better to be cautious and alive than stupid and dead. Or sealed/erased in his case. With his immortality, there are few beings that could truly deal with him right now.

But there was a small part of Turles that hoped someone would be strong enough to contest, challenge, and push him even further. Turles figured it was his Saiyan blood that craved a challenge. It put him at odds with his methodological planning and goal of conquering the entire multiverse. Because once he won, what was left? This damned Saiyan blood of his wanted him to make mistakes, leave stones unturned, and allow those who have the potential to contest him to live. It was an internal battle that Turles doubted he could ever conquer.
