Walking in the park with Karen was amazing. She was a fun person to be around. It was amazing to see how carefree she was. Judging by her situation and her status, she still managed to look at the bright side. If only she knew the magnitude of the mess she was in, maybe she wouldn't be so carefree.
We returned to my house after our long walk, and I felt a bit tired. It wasn't the walk that stressed me out. What stressed me out was the information I had gotten from Karen's aunt.
To think that John Hunter was looking for his daughter was a huge deal. My uncle was already clear that he wouldn't allow me to bring the pack into this, and I had promised McCain that I would kill her if she realises his fears. I had also told Karen that I would only protect her for the duration of our contract. The way things were, Karen was certainly going to die. My decisions and actions were only postponing the day.
