"Allison"
The voice taunted.
"Wake up Allison. It's time for your medicine"
My eyes opened slowly, taking time to adjust to the bright light. At first I didn't recognize my surroundings, then I did and I wished I hadn't woken up.
I was in a surgery, strapped to the table naked. The voice that had woken me up belonged to the surgeon who was looking at me in the face. Fear rose up in me and I trashed around on the table. I barely moved.
"Stop that Allison" the surgeon said gently, but I paid him no attention and continued trying to loosen the restraints. Or at least find a weak spot I can use to break out. "Allison" the surgeon said frimly "stop this behavior or I'm going to have to use force". I ignored him. That was a mistake. The next minute liquid fire ran through my veins. I tensed and screamed at the top of my lungs, but even my lungs added to the pain. I don't remember how long I was like that, tensed against the restraints, pain flowing from inside me, screaming silently because my tongue had been severed to avoid too much noise.
This was my life for the last three years.
Ever since I was kidnapped and sold to a bunch of scientists for illegal experiments, it was one thing after another. First it was simple tests like running till my muscles felt like liquid, then it was the testing of illegal drugs. Then the radioactive baths. They called me lucky to have been able to survive till now. I was nicknamed 'Lucky Rat'.
At some point I forgot where my humanity started and my rage ended. There was only one thing on my mind.
