章 11: Preparations
Nymph still got in Hufflepuff and found some friends.
I don't know any of the people she talks about.
The only person I know in her agegroup would be Charlie Weasley,
but she didn't seem to be friends with that Griffindor.
I'm 7 years old, so I have 4 years till school starts.
In that time I need to make some preparations to achieve my goal.
Where do you get magical beasts in britain?
Buying from breeders requires a lot of money. I still want to earn some to at least buy one or two more before my education at Hogwarts starts, but my wish is make a peaceful life for my magical familiars
and although not optimal conditions, their treatment is better than elsewhere.
I can't steal from Knockturnalley. Not because it goes against my morals, but I am to weak to do so.
Maybe after I learn some useful magic, I beat those abusers up.
The only other place where magical beast live in Britain is the forbidden forest at Hogwarts.
Of course there could live some beasts in other parts of the country,
but I wouldn't know where or how to travel there. It shouldn't be great populations,
but a few loners so I don't like to disturb them.
As I've said, I'm still to weak, so even with Anluan by my side, I can't guarantee that we would be safe
and I don't like to put him in danger.
The consequence is learning ways to protect ourselves and better yet to don't get attacked.
A good example of stealth is Harry's cloak, he receives in bis first year.
I also try to learn some simple spells wandless, but even though I now can feel the mana inside of me,
I can't focus it the way I wish. At least not yet, so I need to train the next years.
My goal covers beginner spells like 'Lumos' and 'Nox' to get a feel for wandless magic.
If I should be able to use them, I can try a more difficult spell.
'Stupefy' isn't an easy spell, but the simplest non-harming I could think of,
so it is a foundation to handle aggressive beasts in the future.
I ask mom if she would teach me a simple healing spell. At the beginning she said if I got injured
there is a medical wing at Hogwarts, but I told her it wasn't for me but Anluan.
She still denied, but said something like 'Episkey' would be possible, when I got my wand.
Need a few years for that one, but it should be fine.
Aside from non-leathal attack and healing, I need defensive and stealth spells,
but those are hard for second years even with wands, let alone me without one.
So no matter how hard I train 'Protego', I wasn't able to make it work.
Then came the training of my special and unique magic.
In particular I now train my space magic 'Invenrory', so it doesn't appear as a man-sized mirror in front of me.
I plan to use the excuse of a trunk or pouch with expanded space to cover my spell.
Don't want somebody to question my ability.
So I try to make it smaller and stick to the surface of different movable objects like doors,
to see if it moves with it or stays in place.
I could do both with enough focus, but had to be near it and the mana consumption has gone up for
movable magic circles.
As I've said at the beginning, I want to earn some money to buy me a few more pets,
but it showed to be harder than I expected.
Not many want to make business with 7-year-olds. Understandeble but nonetheless I tried.
Can't get to Diagon Alley without one of my parents finding out.
Even though I know some muggle companies that should be rising, I didn't have the capital to invest in them.
So I found myself at a dead end. What now?
I couldn't invent something without the magical knowledge of Ancient Runes or Alchemy.
But a couple of months after I turned 8 years old, I had an idea.
The initial question. How do I want to earn money later.
I love animals and magical beasts, so selling some parts that fall of like feathers, fur or droppings for magical plants should be possible. I wouldn't become rich, but that wasn't my plan in the beginning.
Now I have only one magical animal, so I talked with dad if I could intern at a magical breeder.
My thought?
Get some money and learning the handling of the beasts.
Even if I didn't like some of the process, I gained knowledge about the habits and food they liked.
The two years I worked around 25 hours/week and was paid 5 knuts per hour.
Over my employment I got nearly 25 galleons.
With that kind of budget, I could pay for two animals, but that didn't include toys and food,
so maybe one exotic with food and toys should be feasible.
I guess it's time to shop for Hogwarts.
