After that nightmare, sleep eluded me. Every time I closed my eyes, the memory of the dream came flooding back. Eventually, I decided to grab my phone. When I turned it on, I saw that it was already midnight. It wasn't ideal since I had to go to school in the morning, but I just couldn't sleep.
I hesitated for a moment, but then I dialed Raven's number. She answered after a few rings, sounding slightly groggy.
"Jade, what's up? Why are you calling so late?" Her voice was thick with sleep.
"I'm sorry to wake you up. I just couldn't sleep, so I thought of calling you," I explained, scratching my head nervously.
"Oh, that's sweet. Hold on, I'll come over in a few minutes," she replied, her voice filled with concern.
I was taken aback by her offer. "Wait a minute, Raven. It's getting late. I don't think it's a good idea," I said, feeling concerned about her coming over at such a late hour.
