The air was laden with herbal scent, mingling with the sharp iron smell of fresh blood. Injured knights around him, writhing in pain while they were being tended by two medics.

For a moment, Nicolaus found himself taken aback by Lazar's condition, more than he wanted to admit. Lazar, despite being a seasoned knight in combat as he was, appeared in a weakened state.

This unsettling sight felt like a harbinger, warning him of something about to come. But Nicolaus was not the type to believe in omens; rather than anxious or uneasy, fury filled him.

Nicolaus narrowed his gaze, feeling a growing tightness in his chest. "Daelan mentioned you finally found the colossal wolves' lair," he said. With long strides, he moved closer, stopping by Lazar's bedside. 

The old knight raised his head, managing to wear a grim smile despite the exhaustion in his face.
