Madam Isabel hurriedly changed the subject to divert their conversation after unintentionally revealing the secret to Mikael. Sensing her scrambling with distress after her mistake, Mikael considerately played along, pretending she hadn't mentioned any.

They talked to discuss more about Mikael's recovery progress. During, Madam Isabel found out that he had a short-term memory loss, preventing him from recalling what happened.

Madam Isabel's face softened, and her brows furrowed in concern. "Oh, dear. That must be so frightening for you. Are you receiving everything you need to get better?" she inquired.

"Yes, the family doctor has been helpful," Mikael confirmed with a bob of his head. He also added, "And… um, Nicolaus has been insistent on not letting me out of the room. I have been focusing myself on recovering for the past days."

While he was speaking, the memory of Nicolaus locking him inside the room suddenly visited his mind.
