Morne and Geleb winced simultaneously and their eyes darted to the latter's arm, where blood started welling up, coating his sleeve and Morne's hand in red.

Shocked, Morne tried to pull his hand away, but he only jerked Geleb's arm back and forth as he pulled wildly on his hand.

"M-Morne, what's happening?" Geleb asked, his face draining of all color. It felt like several sharp somethings had pierced his flesh and were sucking him dry.

"I don't know," Morne growled. "Help me get it off!"

The two started pulling madly, but no matter how hard they tried, Morne's hand remained firmly attached to Geleb's arm. Geleb's struggles became weaker and weaker over tie. Soon he was on his knees, his heart pounding wildly.

In minutes, his skin was sickly pale, and a pool of crimson coated the stone ground. At the same time, Morne's skin was now a healthier hue, and he only became stronger.
