He had never actually checked the serial number, but with her saying so, it was likely the case. White Palmer pointed his finger at Vicki Johnson, exclaiming, "You... you... don't lie to me. Where's the ring? The ring couldn't possibly be fake, could it!"
A "Darry Ring" could only be purchased once in a lifetime. Moreover, each ring featured a signature steel flower emblem that could not be counterfeited. Because the "Darry Ring" was authentic, White Palmer had never considered there might be a problem with the Love Agreement. He had also never thought to verify the authenticity of that agreement.
Vicki Johnson's body trembled as she said, "The ring is real."
Just as White Palmer let out a sigh of relief, Vicki Johnson added, "However, the ring isn't archived with Darry Ring, so in a sense, it's not real."
