章 39: Dragon

Guys, enjoy the weekend bonus chapter.

.....

Hermione found herself in a bit of a quandary. Even though Artel had suggested returning the gift, she knew the leaf was extraordinarily valuable. She had never come across a description of such a magical moon oak in any book.

But as she gazed at Artel, she wondered if refusing the gift would make him unhappy.

"So, Hermione, do you still want this gift? If not, I can give it to someone else," Artel inquired with a gentle smile, drawing the attention of Pansy, who had been observing from a short distance.

Pansy didn't know what a moon oak was, but she had observed Artel giving Hermione a birthday gift and her interest was piqued.

Hermione's heart skipped a beat when she noticed Pansy's intrigue, and she glanced at Artel, her cheeks turning a shade of pink.

"Please don't," she whispered softly, her voice barely audible.

As the earrings settled into place, Hermione timidly looked up at Artel. However, she realized that someone was watching them from nearby, whispering about their interaction.

"Thank you," Hermione whispered to Artel.

"It's alright" Artel responded.

Hermione quickly made her way to Gryffindor, where she blushed while sitting with her roommates and sisters. They chatted animatedly, casting occasional glances in Artel's direction.

Following a satisfying lunch, Artel headed to the History of Magic classroom on the second floor, secured a corner seat, and prepared for class, or perhaps a nap.

After a two-hour break, Artel left the classroom feeling refreshed.

That evening, Artel didn't dine with Hermione, but she presented him with a cake that made him wonder whether the heart-shaped pattern in strawberry cream was intentional.

Artel viewed these experiences as if he were playing a developmental game, thoroughly enjoying himself.

Days continued to pass, and two weeks flew by, bringing a sense of calm back to Hogwarts.

With Professor Snape's return to class, the gloom hanging over the students at Hogwarts had lifted somewhat. However, the faculty continued to be vigilant for any dark forces.

Dumbledore was also contemplating how to use the Philosopher's Stone to uncover the hidden threat within Hogwarts.

Hermione hadn't been spending much time with Harry and Ron since her unfortunate 50-point deduction. Instead, she sat with Artel during their classes together. When they weren't in the same class, Hermione stayed with her twin roommates.

Unbeknownst to Harry and Ron, they had drifted away from their once-close friends. The two boys were still consumed with curiosity about what the three-headed dog was guarding, keeping their minds focused on that mystery.

In the afternoon, Artel emerged from the Room of Requirement.

He had already successfully brewed more than 300 bottles of orc potions. Seeing the dark green potions neatly arranged in his system space, Artel couldn't help but feel a sense of accomplishment.

Today was September 30th, and the system's summoning authority was due for an update soon.

Artel took a break in the Great Hall for afternoon tea and received a prompt from the system about this month's summoning authority update.

Sipping his tea, he clapped his hands and chose item summoning.

[Ding! Congratulations to the host for successfully obtaining the item [Smaug's Gold Cup]!]

Artel looked at the notification with a mix of curiosity and amusement. This item had no direct connection to the world of Harry Potter, but it could be incredibly valuable to him if he managed to summon Smaug.

Smaug was the last recorded dragon in Middle-earth, and unlike the dragons in the Harry Potter universe, Middle-earth dragons were extraordinarily powerful. Smaug was among the most formidable.

With a colossal length of 141 meters, this two-winged fire dragon possessed a dragon's might and fearsome dragon magic. The golden cup was among Smaug's vast collection of treasures.

To safeguard his possessions, Smaug had used magic to place marks on all of his belongings. If anything was stolen, Smaug's magical markers would guide him to the thief, no matter how far away, and he would swiftly wreak havoc.

The golden cup Artel had acquired was one of these magically marked items. It might be useless for now, but once Artel summoned Smaug into the world, the golden cup would serve as a beacon to attract the dragon.

"Excellent," Artel thought. Drawing Smaug's gold cup was certainly more valuable than items like quills, parchment, and human cutlery.

Seizing the opportunity, he turned to the system and requested to summon characters.
