I quickly stepped off the machine, cleaned it up, and crossed the gym in an attempt to get away from the talk.

A joyful giggle came from behind me. Ah, she's clearly rubbing you the wrong way.

He said, "Fuck off, Henry."

He leaned over me as I sat down to do some sit-ups, grinning like a cat that had grabbed a canary. He brushed his hands off and said, "Well, my work here is done," appearing more and more content. "I suppose I'll go home,"

"Good. Go."

He turned to go while grinning. Oh, and before I forget, Mina asked me to see whether you were successful in getting Emily to attend supper.

I sat up to adjust my shoelaces and nodded. She assured me she would be present.
