章 41: History Of The White Wolves

Leslie's POV:

By morning, I was feeling surprisingly good, considering the hell I'd just been through. The wounds I had sustained had already healed, a benefit of my wolf's rapid recovery ability. But there were still so many unanswered questions gnawing at me, and I wasn't one to let things sit unresolved. Damien hadn't been in bed with me when I woke up, so I figured he was probably in his office. The man had barely slept since my rescue. 

After a quick shower, I got dressed and made a beeline for the office. I needed answers, and I needed them now. The last thing I remembered was being drugged by Elara and her rogue goons, then waking up with witches surrounding me, ready to do god-knows-what to me and my unborn babies. There had been a bright light, the surge of power from Elsie—my wolf—and Damien's voice calling out to me. Then… nothing. I had been in and out of consciousness after that.
