Wallace woke up suddenly as a faint noise caught his attention.
Gradually, the noise grew louder, resonating in his mind.
"Young Baron, sir!"
The voice called out urgently.
"Hey!"
A second lady's voice called out too, with urgency in the voice was clear.
It was Butler Mendez.
"Young Baron, sir!"
The voice persisted, becoming more insistent with each repetition.
"Hey!"
It was the girl Ellenair.
As Wallace emerged from deep sleep, his vision cleared, revealing the worried and curious faces of Butler Mendez and Ellenair.
They stared at him with concern and curiosity.
Ellenair's voice trembled as she pleaded, "Please take it and let me in, please... I took a lot of risks for years for that, please... please..." Her words hung in the air, filled with anticipation.
Realizing that Ellenair was the reason behind his great rewards, Wallace's mind awakened.
"Oh..." he murmured, his gaze fixed on her. A sense of calmness came over him as he spoke. "You can have it now," he said matter-of-factly.
Suddenly, Ellenair was overwhelmed with joy.
She couldn't contain her excitement and jumped in the air, a bright smile lighting up her face. Her expression radiated pure happiness and gratitude.
"Really?" she exclaimed, finding it hard to believe.
"Are you sure?"
Doubt lingered in her voice, as if she couldn't grasp such good luck. "I thought it's expensive?" she ventured, seeking reassurance.
Wallace, too, was confused by the unexpected turn of events. He pondered for a moment before responding.
"Maybe because you're a user of special powers and have lived in this town all your life, for you, it's only five ordinary magic crystals..." His words trailed off, unsure of the exact reason behind Ellenair's favorable circumstances.
Without warning, a futuristic bracelet appeared on Ellenair's left hand.
The sight left her stunned, her eyes widening in disbelief.
"What is this?" she gasped, her voice filled with a mix of awe and confusion. The bracelet shimmered with an otherworldly glow, its intricate design captivating her senses.
Ellenair's eyes widened with curiosity when she noticed the shiny bracelet on Wallace's wrist. Its detailed design hinted at hidden powers waiting to be discovered.
Eager to uncover its secrets, she couldn't help but ask, "Hey! What's this bracelet for, young sir Baron?"
A moment of hesitation crossed Wallace's face, but he quickly regained composure, a friendly smile on his lips. "Ah, I'll tell you," he replied, his voice filled with kindness. And soon, he would share everything with her and explain how to use it. But Butler Mendez, always observant, sensed something amiss.
Was it just a feeling or a figment of his imagination?
He couldn't be sure.
Without wasting time, Wallace stepped up when he realized he's done and then he walked forward, picking up his pace.
Tomorrow was approaching quickly, and time was running out. The 'Vending Machine' awaited, a highly sought-after prize that required speed, cleverness and most of all, his strength. But just as he thought he had left Ellenair behind, her urgent voice echoed through the whole place, "Wait!"
Surprised, Wallace stopped in his tracks, turning to face her. Concern was visible on her face as she held onto his shirt with a trembling hand. "I... I'm scared," she confessed, her voice barely heard so that he could hear it clearly.
Wallace understood her fear.
The other dungeons were known for being dangerous, but his own offered a different opportunity — a chance to survive and thrive. He reached out, gently squeezing her hand.
"Don't be afraid, this dungeon of mine won't take your life like others. Just enjoy and have fun. Embrace the adventure, and you'll come out happy in the end… And I assure you that…"
As he reassured her, a sudden realization hit Wallace, causing his gaze to intensify. He looked into Ellenair's eyes, his voice tinged with urgency.
"Can she help me?" he thought for a moment, studying her. "She looks too innocent," he mumbled. But ultimately, shaking his head and knowing that he wouldn't lose anything, he might as well try and help her at the same time.
"Before you enter, there's something important I must tell you about the game…"
…
Wallace, now a young Vamstroja, stood at the edge of the wooded area, his eyes scanning the surroundings with a strange sense of familiarity and unfamiliarity at the same time.
"Hmm?"
The tall, grand trees reached up toward the sky, their branches swaying gently in the morning wind that passes through his body as a breeze.
The lush green grass danced beneath his feet, its blades glistening with dew in the early sunlight that touched his eyes.
Wallace couldn't help but feel a chill down his spine as he observed the vivid details of the forest.
"This Virtual reality feels so real," he said.
The damp earth beneath his boots felt solid and real, grounding him in this unfamiliar world. It was as if he was deeply connected to this reality, surpassing any prior experience on Earth.
Lost in his thoughts, he casually glanced down at his arms, his eyes knitted with amazement. The veins beneath his white pale skin seemed to pulse with life, and his muscles rippled with strength and vigor.
This strong physicality felt strange yet exhilarating, as if he had been reborn into a body bursting with untapped potential.
"Yes, this feels more real than any virtual reality I remember from Earth," Wallace murmured softly, his voice barely heard amidst the rustling leaves.
His mind raced with questions, desperately trying to piece together the fragments of his memory.
What's the story of the plot again?
And why did everything feel so vividly real?
Suddenly, a wave of remembrance crashes through his mind, causing him to freeze in place.
"Ah, I remember now. This is about a young blood, a Vamstroja, and I am that young blood," he muttered, his voice filled with a mix of wonder and unease.
"My purpose was to keep hunting and progressing until I reached a certain level and became able or allowed to use advanced weaponries of the Vamstroja race…
"In this game, the life of a young Vamstroja or Predator that is not seen in movies is explored... so this game is a compensation for that."
With a clarity on his goal, Wallace turned around and headed straight toward the spacecraft that was behind him.
He couldn't ignore its smooth, metallic exterior gleamed in the sunlight, a striking contrast to the natural beauty of the forest.
With a resolute expression on his face, he stepped inside and tried to find the first weapon available.
Suddenly, he emerged moments later, clutching a shining knife in his hand.
"Here I go…"
The weight of the weapon felt reassuring as he held it firmly, his fingers gripping the handle like he didn't want to let it go!
It represented survival, a tool to aid him in his mission to rise through the ranks of the Vamstroja.
With each step he took, his heart pounded in his chest, like his excitement was filling the air.
After all, this game has a sort of level up, because back on Earth, it doesn't have a level up.
