( AN: you can check out my other FF story that I'm focusing on.) thanks and enjoy.
(Year 283 AC) And I'm currently standing with my troops. My soldiers are also waiting for my command. I can see they all have a different expression on their face. The tension is high, Some afraid, some angry, Some confident. It doesn't matter now, Because many of them will be Dead after this battle. Soldiers die in battle that's the realty I know.
Battle of the Trident is the battle, that will ultimately determined the outcome of the Rebellion I'm currently fighting. This battle is going to be fought between us the rebel and royal troops here at the Trident, across what would thereafter be known as the ruby ford. In the canon the battle ended in a victory for the rebels.
And I'm truly confident that this time it will be as well. The last battle planning is done and we are fucking ready to go.
The notable commanders in our right flank is consisted Eddard Stark, lord Umber, Lord Bolton, Lord karstark , Ser mandarly, Lord piper, Lord blackwood, Lord Forrester, And Ser Blackfish Tully.
They will lead Our right flank, They have some archers to soften the their opponents. Well, Those archers are from Blackwood land, They are very highly trained long bowman.
The thing is, most of the lords only brought their infantry. And left their missile units at home to guard their own castles. It would've been better if we had more archers. But what is done is done ! and thinking about it won't help.
So Our right flank is mostly consisted of Northerners and Riverlanders. And they have few hundred archers and mostly infantry soldiers. They have ten thousand Men totally.
Then the notable commanders of our Left flank is Lord Corbray and his sons, Lord Bracken, Lord Vance, Lord Hunter, Lord Melcolm, Horton Redfort, Lord Royce, Lord Templeton, and they are basically consisted of cavalry forces.
They will lead the devastating cavalry charge on to the enemy flank from our left. If my knowledge is correct then they will be facing the dornish spears. The cavalrys are also our strongest trump card. The outcome will depend on how quickly they do their job.
( Flash back)
Lord Arryn nominated me lead that Force, But I diclined him because I'll be leading the 10 thousand vanguard infantry soldiers in the middle of our formation. And first one to engage in the battle.
My troops are all basically the cannon fodders infantry soldiers that will die first. And do as much damage as possible.
In the meeting Robert argued that he is the one that should be first to enter the battle. But I shut him down, saying that if he dies in the first ten minutes in the battle then the Rebellion is finished. I also brought up the fact that if we are going to overthrow the Targaryens then we will be needing a new King. He does have more legitimacy then other Lords Thus he's life is more important.
Though Robert is Robert and still wanted do what he does. But my words also have weights. And lots of other lords also agreed with me, They all agreed that Robert Baratheon is the prime candidate for the Iron Throne. And Lord Arryn and Stark convinced him to engage in battle in second wave. Also All the Lords agreed to crown him the king.
Except the Northerners, Some of them had other plans, like Lord Mors Umber voiced out that The North should become independent kingdom. And all the northern lords gave him their thumbs up, "ahm" I mean Lord Umber got a lot of "Nods" and "Aye" from his fellow Lords.
Robert also laughed and agreed to the Northerners. But Eddard Stark being Eddard Stark and the honorable man he is ! Refused to become the king in the north.( I don't if honor has something to do with it) All the lord showed their disappointment, I also observed the reaction of Roose Bolton, And for a brief moment his expression changed, It's the only time I spotted some changes in his face. Like he is very disappointed, Well, I can't blame the man because I'm also disappointed at Eddard Starks choice too. But how the hell does that man keeps his creepy stoic expression?
Anyway, the Stormlords wanted to crown Robert right then and there. But Robert stopped them from doing so, and said that after the Targaryens are gone, he will accept the crown.
So agreed Robert join the battle as a second wave. He will command ten thousand Men as well, and mostly the elite troops.
The formation is like this \ = / .
Ten thousand Men lead by Lord Stark in the Right.
Ten thousand Cavalry lead by Lord Corbray in the Left.
Ten thousand Cannon fodder in the first line lead by me.
And ten thousand backup troops lead by Robert, To reinforce me when most of my troops are Dead. Simple and effective strategy in these medieval times.
(flash back End)
( 1 minute before the battle)
All was good but we made simple error in our planning. Because when we reached the trident, one thirds of the loyalist army already crossed the river. So we didn't have a time for a parlay with the loyalist commanders.
And we immediately attacked them like a thunderstorm. But before that I gave my troops some good encouraging speech. I know I can do some history ripoff that can roused these Men's to fight until the end.
So I took a deep breath and shouted " warriors of the Rebellion, He who gave His life for you today demands yours in return. These are combats worth of you, combats in which it is glorious to conquer and advantageous to die. Illustrious knights, generous defenders of the Seven, remember the example of your fathers who conquered this lands and defeated the first men whose names are inscribed in Heaven." They were all silent. well good thing then.
"I am amongst you at this time, not as for my recreation or sport, but being resolved, in the midst and heat of the battle, to live or die amongst you all; to lay down, for my God, and for justice in these kingdoms, and for you people, my honor and my blood."
I asked them, "Shall we allow our audacious enemies to violate with impunity to the land of the Seven kingdoms?"
"Noooooo"
I got a loud answer from my troops.
"Will you permit the army to escape which has carried terror into your families? You will not. March, then, to justice . let's show the result of our efforts will be unclouded glory, and a durable peace."
" For honor and Blood".
"FOR HONOR AND BLOOD" The soldiers replied.
"With me Now".
