章 11: Dive
MC .POV.
We sat at the edge of the forrest for a little while just observing, then I decided to wonder into the field just a little, there was so many flowers I couldn't see my paws anymore, the elf took a step back every few I took, I got very close if they wanted to attack me now was the time.
Now I was right in front of them now and got a better look, they are all elf and from what I can tell most of them are male I sniffed a few times just to make sure.
"Hey just over there, I think there's a magical beast under the ground"
I turned my head in the direction my friend was facing, the elf haven't attacked me yet so I should be fine, with my snout now below the thick layer of flowers I can finally smell the beast then I walk over to where the smell is strongest.
"Its here"
"Yeah but how are you gonna get it? If you start digging for it will run away"
"Don't worry I'v got this"
I don't know what I'm doing I think I saw on TV once a fox jumping Inyo the snow to catch a mouse, but this isn't snow and I could end up just smashing my face into the ground, lets just hope that its burrow is close enough to the surface that it won't hurt that much.
Rearing up on my hind legs I jump and angle my body so I dive head first into the ground, BINGO I grab onto its neck plant all four of my legs firmly on the ground and with all my strength, I yank it right out of the ground, it was thrashing around a lot making it hard to hold onto so I lifted it up and slammed it back into the ground as hard as I could.
"How did you do that?"
My friend had a surprised look on his face with his mouth gaping open, I gave him a sly grin before digging my face into my kill, the shock wore of at that point.
"Hey! Leave some for me!"
By the time we had our fill the elf were long gone they had run off into the forrest, I did try tracking them but I'm not to good at that yet so I lost them I was hoping they could lead me to the entrance of the dungeon, oh well I'll find it eventually.
I suppose that is enough fun for one day so decided to return to the burrow with the uneaten parts of my kill, when we got back to the burrow no one was there so I used my limited tracking skills to find them, they were at a lake it was small and shallow it was just enough to swim in but you could still reach the bottom if you needed to, it was a good idea to learn how to swim, I dragged my kill over to mother who was waiting by the side of the lake and exchanged a greeting which was just us rubbing the sides of our faces together, after I greeted mother I ran off into the water towards my siblings.
"WOAH Woah no let me get off first!"
"Nope, you should learn to swim too"
I was already in the lake he couldn't leave unless he swam so its impossible for him to get out of this situation dry, learning to swim wasn't that hard for me I just had to doggy paddle and my siblings who like to copy me also learnt to swim quickly after I did, then I had a good idea if my friend didn't want to swim then I'll take him under water, so I swam out of the water I felt him relax on my back.
'Don't relax so soon my friend'
I started to run towards a ledge that over hung the water and jumped straight of it.
"GAAAAAAAA!!"
I dove under the water and crawled along the bottom for a little before coming up for air.
"ARE YOU TRYING TO DROWN ME!?!"
I started laughing at his overreaction and my siblings started snickering at him too, his cheeks went rosy, hold up snakes can blush!?
We ended the day in our burrow telling each other about what we did that day, all of my siblings were very interested in the elf that I met, mother didn't seem upset about the elf but did warn me that if I ever meet some beast kin not to behave the same was as I did with the elf, it looks like Beast kin are a Lot more aggressive and. Battle ready they don't hunt for fun like the humans but they will defend themselves if they feel like they are in danger.
