Nathaniel York's temples pulsed twice.
Under the bed? She could really think of that, is she so afraid of being discovered by Thomas?
Nathaniel York's eyes narrowed, hiding the cold light in them: "I didn't expect you to care about this Thomas so much, is he that important to you?"
Matilda Jenkins scoffed, "Of course he's important, I have to care about him."
Thomas had been her good friend for many years. Without Thomas, she wouldn't have been able to graduate smoothly, let alone work here at Goddess. With Thomas around, Matilda felt much safer.
Of course, she cared about her good buddy.
Nathaniel York smiled coldly, which made Matilda feel a little scared. She swallowed and took a step back.
"Milly... Milly, did you fall asleep?" Thomas's voice was still coming from outside.
Matilda anxiously hopped on one foot: "Nathaniel York, hurry up. Don't harm me. If you won't go under the bed, at least go to the bedroom, hurry up and stop dilly-dallying."
