Nathaniel York didn't budge: "I think staying like this might be a safe and comfortable distance, or you can come in, and I can take you to get some sleep."
Matilda Jenkins frowned, feeling as if she was being teased.
Trying to contain her anger, Matilda said to Nathaniel, "Sleep? That's fine, but you should come out and follow me. I'll choose the place."
Nathaniel's lips twitched twice: "You really are..."
"Don't waste time talking. Just tell me if you dare to follow me. If you're a man, be quick about it."
These provocative words didn't lead to Nathaniel impulsively getting out of the car. He tapped the steering wheel with his fingers and asked, "Are you always like this with anyone?"
Matilda sneered, "Of course not, I have my principles. Do you think all men are as rogue as you?"
Nathaniel stopped tapping the steering wheel and reached out to open the car door.
Standing in front of Matilda, he said, "I know what you're going to do next. Be gentle; I'm afraid..."
