When Ethan Herd returned home, he had changed into a new set of clothes and brought a paper bag into the living room.

It was past 11 o'clock, and there were still people talking in the Herd's family living room.

"Ethan, you're back..."

He replied lazily, "Mum, why are you still up?"

Mrs. Herd, his mother, stood up and said, "Well..."

Before Mrs. Herd could finish her sentence, the person next to her quickly softened her voice and said, "Ethan, you're back. I had nothing to do today, so I came to visit your aunt. We were just talking, and I lost track of time."

Ethan looked at Ruka Glenn, too lazy to give her a cold glance, "Mum, you're getting older. Why are you staying up so late? Do you want more wrinkles on your face?"

Mrs. Herd, already in her fifties, had taken excellent care of herself and looked no more than forty. She hurriedly touched her face, "Oh, my, is that true?"
