章 48: Something Inside The Body Bag

"Thanks for the dinner, Zack. I owe you one. Maybe next time, I'll take you with Jade to my house and taste my mom's cooking too. Well, I mean my stepmother," Shane said as he was about to say goodbye.

One thing Jade didn't know was Shane's house and parents. All she knew was Shane was living with the herd, but she'd never heard him say home or parents.

"Ah, no need to return the favor, Shane. I happen to cook a lot, so I might as well take you," Zack replied.

"Well, the point is still the same. Then I'll excuse myself," said Shane.

Zack nodded while Jade smiled at him. Zack immediately closed the door and then he focused on the part of Jade's clothes that looked stained.

"What's that?" Zack asked, looking down at his left chest, where the stain was visible.

Jade immediately followed the direction of his father's gaze. She was a little surprised because she didn't realize that there were stains from the accidental stab.
