As usual Max picked him up, but this time he was a little later than his usual hour. It made Jade a little annoyed because his time was very limited to reach campus and attend early classes.
Jade just kept quiet because Max had really annoyed her lately. He waited for Max to apologize first.
But what Jade found wasn't an apology, instead she saw how hard Max was gripping the steering wheel.
Jade didn't want to ask. Because what he thought was, Max would tell him if there was a problem. Whatever it was Max promised to tell him.
"I'm sorry for the delay," Max started.
"It's okay."
"You don't want to know my reasons?"
Jade looked at him with a forced smile. "Well, you promise tell me everything. So just tell without I ask."
Max sighed. He was indeed guilty and did not immediately apologize in advance.
"Actually, it's kind of weird. But I hope you're not surprised. And this is the first time my family and I have found out."
