章 23: Chapter 22

You scared the hell out of us!" Carson grumbled as he took my hand. None of them paid any heed to the nurse's warning.

"What the hell happened?" Dexter asked me.

I could hear their words but none of them made sense. I wanted to get up and follow Tristan. I needed to explain myself.

But when I thought about it, why the hell would he let me explain? Or better yet, what was there for me to explain? I had lied about my identity and if the feud between him and my family was as bad as it had sounded on the phone call I overheard, he hated me now that he knew my true identity. Heck, he probably thought I was a spy.

I wouldn't blame him. I had so many chances to tell him the truth but I was a coward.

"Isa, are you okay?" Misa asked, holding my hand in his.

I shook my head. I wanted them all out so I could rest, but I couldn't get the words out. Like everything else, my twin understood me yet again.

"Guys, why don't you wait outside? I'll take care of Isa."
