章 69: Result

It was late at night and Frederick Mortcombe had just finished having his last cigarette break outside. With the minty taste mixed with a little bit of ashy flavour lingering in his mouth, he washed it down with an alcoholic beverage in his study.

The smooth sweet taste that glided down his throat was delightful! And the smell of old books penetrated his nostril was heavenly as was the silence of the peaceful night. Unquestionably, it was the perfect way to end his night before heading to bed.

After a climb and another two of the staircase steps, he received a phone call as the device vibrates sporadically in his hand. Not that he expected any phone call this late, he answered it anyway.

"Yes, Pears? Is there a problem at all?" Frederick's husky voice was the only sound that filled the hallway as he continued ascending the staircase.

"No, sir. I have called to inform you that the result is out and it has been emailed to you, sir."
