Audrey was not sure what her captor was trying to say. She could not fathom why he kept on talking about Freddie's biological father when the possibility of knowing who it would be is limitless.
Could it be possible that he made up a lie and picked a random man to be THE father just so he could throw Freddie out of the picture? It did not sit right with her considering how attentive and caring he had been over her son.
But what if... What if Frederick had enough of them? She would not be surprised if he had gone tired of playing a dependable male figure role when he had always been a one-man person with no extra baggage attached. Yet now, he suddenly gained a 'family'
Was the presence of the biological father a guise to distract them from the actual thing - to be discarded since they had contributed nothing to him?
I need the reader's opinion on this matter.
