章 629: Alfonzo's New Invention
Earth Land, Ishgar, Kingdom of Fiore, Skies of Fiore.
August 11, 2788.
While the ladies were in an uproar back at the Mansion on the Lake, Alfonzo, with Amar'e in his arms was flying, and had just flown over the sea, past the coast of Hargeon.
At first, Amar'e was confused, looking around frantically. But when he laid his eyes on his father, he smiled. Then, he grabbed two handfuls of Alfonzo's hair while laughing happily.
["You know, it wouldn't have killed you to let them know that you were planning to take Amar'e with you."] Bedlam said from Alfonzo's inner world.
["Seriously, Lici must be so worried."] Riot said in a frantic tone. ["You should have told her first. What are we gonna do if she's angry when we get back?"]
["Simp."] Bedlam muttered disdainfully.
'But if I had told her, she and the others would have pestered me for an explanation of where I was taking Little Man.' Alfonzo replied internally while smiling at Amar'e. "And that would have taken a lot more time than I was willing to take. I probably wouldn't have been able to leave until close to nighttime.'
["Even if that's true, you should have told Lici first!"] Riot shouted. [":How can you be so inconsiderate to her?"]
'Simp.' Alfonzo muttered internally.
["Hahahaha!"] Bedlam started laughing uproariously.
Riot, on the other hand, gritted his teeth in anger before throwing a punch at Bedlam. That naturally led to another fight between the two [Armament Spirits], which Alfonzo ignored as usual while he continued to fly and talk to Amar'e.
Earth Land, Ishgar, Kingdom of Fiore, Galuna Island.
Although he was not flying at his top speed in order to keep Amar'e safe, it did not take Alfonzo long to reach his destination, Galuna Island. More specifically, the temple on the island. And when he did, he landed at its summit.
"Good." Alfonzo said while looking around. "there's no one here. I don't plan on spending too much time here, so I'm glad none of the winged demons are here."
["Yeah, it would have taken a while To explain everything to them."] Bedlam said after finally separating from Riot while straightening out his suit.
["Whatever…"] Riot muttered. ["Just get started so we can get back and you can explain yourself to Lici."]
Alfonzo only rolled his eyes at Riot's worried words. Then, he walked to the center of the temple's roof and took out the human shaped magic item he just finished building from the small storage bag he wore on his hip..
Seeing the large, humanoid item come out of seemingly nowhere, Amar'e's interested gaze was drawn to it immediately because of the way it shined under the sunlight. And he could not help but reach out to it with his little hands.
"Just a minute, Little Man." Alfonzo said with a smile. "I'm gonna show you something pretty cool really soon. There will be two more people to play with you after I'm done."
By now, only a day before his first birthday, Amar'e had a basic understanding of a few words. And play just happened to be one of them. So, he started laughing happily as he watched Alfonzo place his right palm on the item.
"Here we go." Alfonzo said while crossing his fingers internally. "Let's just hope it works."
In the next instant, Alfonzo flared his magic power while sending some of it into the magic item. That caused the magic item to glow in a metallic grey light, Then, after absorbing enough of Alfonzo's magic power, the glow retracted into the magic item. At the same time, Alfonzo took two steps away from the humanoid magic item.
All the while, Amar'e's eyes were focused on the magic item. And after only a few seconds, his eyes opened wide. Then, he reached his hands towards the magic item.
The reason for Amar'e's reaction was because of the two men, one standing at about 6'5" with long purple hair tied in a ponytail, brown skin, and purple eyes glinting with self-confidence, and a shorter young man with long silver hair, also tied in a ponytail, and red eyes glinting with wrath, that just walked out of it. On top of that, they were each wearing a white and black suit, respectively.
"We're actually in the outside world." The purple haired man, Bedlam, said while looking around.
"It feels a lot different from the inside of that jackass's inner world." The silver-haired young man, Riot,. Added.
"Hey, watch your mouth!" Alfonzo shouted. "What would you do if Amar'e picked up that language?"
Reaching that point, Alfonzo and Riot both shivered.
"Lici would throw a fit." Bedlam said with atone filled with schadenfreude while approaching Alfonzo.
Then, once he was close enough, Bedlam reached out his arms with an uncharacteristically loving smile on his face.
"Come here, Little Man." Bedlam said in a gentle tone. "I've wanted to do this ever since the day you were born."
Seeing Bedlam's actions, Alfonzo stopped shivering. Then, he smiled as he handed Amar'e to his [Armament Spirit]. At the same time, Amar'e who had just been handed over, smiled as he subconsciously reached up to grab a hold of Bedlam's hair. However, when he realized there were no dreadlocks for him to grab onto, he wore a confused expression. Then, he looked at Bedlam while seemingly examining his face.
"Looks like he recognized us as the same person at first." Bedlam said.
"That makes sense, doesn't it?" Alfonzo asked while watching the two interact. "We're basically the same person, right?"
"That's true." Bedlam said as he turned his head, causing his ponytail to be draped over his left shoulder. "There, you can play with that, alright?"
In response, Amar'e stopped examining Bedlam's face, put on a smile, and started playing with Bedlam's hair. Though it was different from what he was used to, he still seemed to be having fun.
"Hey, I wanna hold him, too." Riot said as he quickly approached Bedlam and Amar'e.
Hearing the new voice, without letting go of Bedlam's hair, Amar'e turned his head. And although Riot looked even more different than his father, he felt as if there was another one of his father right there.
Confused by what he was feeling, Amar'e shifted his gaze between Alfonzo, Riot, and Bedlam repeatedly. However, since he was so young, he could not understand what he was feeling. So, as a child often does, he just enjoyed the moment, thinking it was enough that there were more people to play with him.
Alfonzo spent the next few minutes smiling as Riot and Bedlam played with Amar'e. However, he could not stay like that forever. So, he stepped forward and opened his mouth.
"So, how do you two feel?" Alfonzo asked curiously.
Just then, Riot and Bedlam remembered they were here for a reason. So, they handed Amar'e back to Alfonzo and closed their eyes to feel their current states.
"I don't' feel any time restrictions." Bedlam said.
"Neither do I." Riot added. "Meaning, there shouldn't be any issues."
Alfonzo nodded his head in satisfaction.
"On top of that, I can feel that I can't use any of my power while I'm here in this way." Bedlam said. "So, I won't be able to fight at all."
"Which means, you can't face us to fully unseal us while using this thing." Riot said while pointing at the humanoid magic item.
"Then its working the way it's supposed to." Alfonzo said with a smile while bouncing Amar'e in his arms. "Good. Now we can head back. *Sigh* Any longer and those women will be ready to fight me on sight."
"Hahaha! And with Irene there, you might really get you're a--- *Cough* butt kicked." Bedlam said, correcting himself along the way.
Riot also laughed. And he laughed even harder when he saw Alfonzo's expression turn for the worse. Then, the two [Armament Spirits] turned around and walked towards the metallic, humanoid, magic item.
"I'll see you when we get back home, Little Man." Bedlam said with a smile before stepping into the magic item.
"Bye, Mar'e." Riot said while waving at Amar'e. "See you soon."
With that, Riot also disappeared into the magic item. At the same time, Alfonzo could feel both Riot and Bedlam return to his inner world.
"Good, now everything is perfect." Alfonzo said.
Alfonzo then put the magic item back into his storage bag. Then, he and Amar'e disappeared from the top of the temple in a flash of violet light.
Earth Land, Ishgar, Kingdom of Fiore, Magnolia.
"it's been three hours already." Elicia said while pacing back and forth in the living room.
"Calm down, Lici." Mirajane said as she approached Elicia from behind and placed her hands on her shoulders. "You know Amar'e is safe with Alfonzo. There's no need to worry so much."
"Oh, I'm not worried." Elicia said s she turned around to face Mirajane. "I'm furious. How could he just take Mar'e somewhere without telling me?"
"Oh, come on, Lici." Cana said while sprawling on the couch with a bottle of wine. "You act like you've never taken Amar'e somewhere without telling Fonzie first."
"But that's when he's not here." Elicia said. "I've only done it once when he was here."
"And this is the first time Alfonzo's done it, too, right?" Sun asked. "In fact, Alfonzo doesn't usually take Amar'e anywhere but to the front or back yard, right?"
"Now that you mention it." Elicia said, stopping to think about it. "Hmm… I think you're right."
Elicia then shrugged her shoulders.
"Fine, I just wanted to go, too, okay?" Elicia said while pouting.
All the other ladies could not help laughing at Elicia's actions.
"Anyway, since we have some time, why don't you let everyone see the wedding dress you made for me, Lici." Lisanna said with a smile while sitting on the couch.
"Yeah, we haven't seen it yet." Lucy said with a smile. "I bet Lisanna is gonna be so pretty. *Sigh* It's too bad Levy isn't here to see it. But she's out on a quest with Jet and Droy."
"Okay, I'll go get it." Elicia said with a smile before running off to get the dress from her room.
"Wait! I thought Levy, Jet, and Droy decided to take quests solo after the Phantom Lord attack." Marin said in a confused tone. "What happened? Is the quest really tough?"
"NO, not really." Lucy replied. "According to Levy, she should have been able to handle it with no problem. She only brought Jet and Droy along to get them some points for the next S-Class Promotion Exam. You know, since they haven't been eligible even once since they joined the guild."
"Well, whose fault is it that they were so petty that they did not want to train with us in the beginning because they were jealous of Fonzie?" Cana spat out.
"They refused to train with us even more when Gajeel started training with us, too.' Erza added.
"No, that only started when Levy started getting closer to Gajeel, remember?" Sun said.
"Oh, that's right." Erza said while nodding her head in confirmation.
At that moment, the residents of the mansion felt two familiar aura's entered the barrier surrounding the island.
"Fonzie~~~~! Mar'e~~~~!" Elicia screamed loud enough to be heard from everywhere on the above ground floors.
"Well, I guess they're back." Ultear said as she stood up and started walking towards the front door. "Let's see what Alfonzo was acting so mysterious for."
All the other ladies nodded in agreement. Then, they all followed Ultear out of the living room. Even the maids, who were curious what Alfonzo was doing to cause such an uproar earlier came to the front door under the pretense of greeting the master and young master of the house.
By the time they all arrived at the front door, Alfonzo and Amar'e were already inside. On top of that, Elicia was hugging the both of them while smiling happily.
"Did you have fun with Daddy?' Elicia asked while tickling Amar'e.
Seeing that, all the ladies who were relaxing in the living room felt their eyebrows start twitching.
"Didn't she try to sell us some crap about being furious?" Ur asked.
"You should know by now, you can't believe anything Elicia says about being upset with Fonzie." Marin said with a smile.
"*Sigh* I guess you're right." Ur said while shaking her head.
"I guess we'll have to wait to see Lisanna's wedding dress, won't we?" Mirajane asked.
"Well, we'll see it sooner or later." Rika said with a smile. "The wedding is next week, after all."
"Fonzie! What did you make this time?" Shizuka asked as she skipped towards Alfonzo, Elicia, and Amar'e before snatching Amar'e out of Alfonzo's arms.
Naturally, as soon as Amar'e was in Shizuka's arms, he started patting on her breasts, as always. Meanwhile, Alfonzo only smiled.
"Just wait for me in the living room." Alfonzo said. "I have to install it into the mansion's power source first."
With that said, Alfonzo smile as he walked away from the mansion's entrance and headed towards the elevator.
"He's still acting so mysterious." Irene said as she watched Alfonzo leave.
"Yeah, but it's really got me curious." Brandish said as she, too, watched Alfonzo walk away.
"Anyway, let's just wait for him in the living room." Saeko said. "I'm sure it will be worth it."
All the ladies nodded before they returned to the living room with Amar'e they told the maids, Ikaruga, Grayfia, Maria, Mey-Rin, Ai, and Miyuki to put their work on hold to see what was to come, as well.
A few minutes later, while everyone was seated in the living room, all the ladies with [Soul Armaments] that had their first seals released felt their [Armament Spirits] disappear from their inner worlds. And this naturally led to a panic.
"What's going on?" Irene asked. "Where's Belserion?"
"I can't sense Yuki-Onna, either." Ur added in a frantic tone.
"Zodiac is missing, too." Lucy said.
Meanwhile, all those without [Soul Armaments], namely, Lisanna, Shizuka, Rika, Heine, and Juliet, watched the others with worried expressions.
"Ladies, please calm down." Ai said after understanding the situation. "This is an effect of Master Alfonzo's new invention. Please, just be patient. I'm sure you won't be disappointed."
"Seriously, why does he have to always keep everything a surprise?" Ur grumbled as she calmed herself down. "I wish Bianca were here, she'd teach him a lesson for this."
"You know she wouldn't." Elicia said as she sat down next to Ur. "She'd probably be teasing us about losing our composures, even if she was the one who panicked the most."
"*Sigh* You're probably right." Ur said with a fond, reminiscent smile on her face. "I really miss her and Orlando."
"Me, too." Elicia said as she slung an arm around Ur's shoulders.
Seeing Elicia's and Ur's interaction, everyone was a bit regretful that they never got to meet Alfonzo's and Elicia's parents. However, that mood was broken quickly enough when several figures, led by Alfonzo, who was smiling brightly entered the living room.
"What in the…" Irene blurted out as she stared at one of the figures, a small, dog sized dragon who was flapping its wings and flying behind Alfonzo. Belserion… How?"
Not only Belserion was present, but Riot, Bedlam, Scylla, Astraia, Nova, Kanade, floating with a bubble of water around her tail, Bael, Kinsi, Hoyle, Zodiac, Yuki-Onna, and Brandish's [Armament Spirit], Wasp, a woman with short auburn-colored hair, blue eyes, insect wings growing from her back, and wearing a black and gold bodysuit with stripes like those of a wasps on the thighs.
'She looks like Janet Van Dyke from Marvel comics.' Elicia thought to herself while looking at Wasp.
On a side note, Alfonzo thought the same thing when Wasp emerged from the magic item after he finished installing it.
"So, how do you like it?" Alfonzo asked as he stepped into the living room with a smile on his face. "Now, everyone can interact with everyone else's [Armament Spirits] as long as they are on the island."
"Oh, Master Unohana is gonna be surprised out of her mind when she sees this tomorrow." Ur said while looking at Yuki-Onna, a beautiful woman with ice blue hair and eyes, snow-white skin, a graceful posture, and wearing a long, elegant, white kimono.
"Yeah, and Levy is probably gonna bombard you with questions as soon as she sees this, too." Lucy said.
"Wendy would love to see this, too." Shizuka said. Then, she started to nibble on her right index finger. "Now I want a [Soul Armament, too]."
The group continued to discuss Alfonzo's new invention while interacting with their [Armament Spirits] until it was time for everyone to go home and Amar'e got sleepy. After that, they all called it a night to be in their best condition for Amar'e's birthday party, with the [Armament Spirits all returning to their partner's inner worlds before the day came to an end.
