章 8: 8. A New Family
After a few days, Ur finally brings the kids to the town. She wants to tell the town people that Ultear is alive and has returned.
Also, she wants the Guild to help her report what the Bureau of Magical Development had done to the Magic Council.
She knows even though the facility has been destroyed, there are still those involved in the facility's projects. That's why she needs to report it to the Magic Council so they can punish those people.
Alex isn't sure if the Magic Council will help because he thinks that there must be some people in the Magic Council who are involved in it.
But Ur assures him that they will surely help. More like they can only help solving this case because she has secretly contacted some of the 10 Wizard Saints.
She is actually a candidate for the 10 Wizard Saints and people say that she is the strongest in this country. So her influence is actually very big in the Magic Council.
If the Magic Council moves, then they can dig the facility and the evidence there will be enough to punish everyone involved, if they are still alive.
Alex finally agrees because he also knows that the main culprits that control that facility must still be alive. After all, they would stay in comfortable places instead of in that facility.
When Ur brings Ultear to the town, everyone is shocked because everyone thought that Ultear has died.
They get even more shocked when they hear what happened to Ultear. The Guild easily agrees to help Ur reporting this case to the Magic Council.
To their surprise, the Magic Council also receives the same report from the Guild in Nira and some other towns. Alex assumes that the other victims also report it to the Magic Council.
Because they report this case, they also hear that the Magic Council is currently investigating the attack on that facility which was suspected to be the doing of a foreign organization.
Luckily, none of the victims report that it was Alex who destroyed the building. They only say they escaped together because Alex himself asked them to keep how they escaped as a secret.
After all, he is afraid that if people know his power, he will be captured again and be tested again. Even though he can use Shukaku's power, he knows there are still many Mages out there who can defeat him.
But he never thought they would suspect a foreign country as the culprit. Though now that he thinks about it, suspecting a foreign country is more logical than suspecting a child who couldn't escape for 2 years.
Either way, it's a good thing for him, so he asks Ur to also not reveal his role in the destruction of that facility and she obviously agrees because she also wants him to have a peaceful life now.
Alex now stays in Ur's house because he has nowhere to go. Ur and Ultear also ask him to stay there with them and he agrees to stay until he finds something he wants to do.
Amazingly, just a week after he comes to Ur's house, Alex's problem with the low temperature has gone. He now can also walk around in thin clothes like the others.
Even he himself is amazed by how great his body's ability to adapt with the environment. Just a week ago, he would need to keep wearing thick clothes and stay close to the fireplace, but now he can even run around naked outside if he has no shame.
Ur is teaching him many things about the world because she can't teach him Magic. She doesn't know how to use Take Over Magic and he doesn't have affinity with Ice Make Magic.
So she can only teach him other things. After all, while he can use powerful Take Over Magic, he doesn't know much about the world. He can't even read this world's letter, so Ur and Ultear teach him how to read.
Another thing he is focusing on now is increasing his magic power. He still doesn't have enough magic power to utilize Shukaku's full power and he will need even more when he unseals the other Tailed Beasts.
After all, different from the Jinchuuriki in the Naruto World, the power of the Tailed Beasts here depends on him.
In the Naruto world, the Tailed Beasts are beings that are sealed inside their Jinchuurikis and still have their original power.
But here, they have become Alex's abilities. Just like other beasts captured with Take Over Magic, they only have their souls and abilities, but they don't have their own magic power.
Their power is Alex's power. So if Alex is weak, they are also weak. If Alex is strong, they are also strong. They are one with Alex, unlike in the Naruto world where they are still separated from their Jinchuuriki even though they are sealed.
That's why Shukaku said it is just impossible for them to get out of Alex's body because they are bound as one.
Though Alex doesn't really understand even after Shukaku explained it very thoroughly. He only understands that everything depends on him.
He can't just suddenly become very powerful by activating the Tailed Beasts' power like the Jinchuuriki in the Naruto world.
Even if he transforms into the Tailed Beasts' full forms, he will still be weak if he doesn't have enough magic power to utilize their abilities.
That's why now he is working hard on increasing his magic power. His magic power is already at the level of high rank Mages because of the experiments that were done on him for 2 years.
But it's still not enough to utilize the Tailed Beasts' abilities properly. Also, his control over his magic power is still quite low. That's why Ur is teaching him to control his magic power.
But because she can't teach him Take Over Magic, she buys the magic books about Take Over Magic for him to study.
Time passes by and Alex's life in Ur's house is very enjoyable. They don't live in luxury, but for Alex who has lived a very suffering life, this is like living in heaven already.
The Magic Council has already disbanded the Bureau of Magical Development and captured those who are involved in the human experiments after a thorough investigation.
They have dug the site where the facility was buried by Shukaku and recovered a lot of evidence of the Bureau's misdeeds.
Although the process of digging up the facility was a difficult one. The seal that Shukaku placed on the sand was very hard to break.
They even need to call 2 Wizard Saints and Ur, the strongest Mage in the country to destroy the seal. Ur who knows that the seal is the result of Alex's magic is very impressed.
She knows that Alex still can't fully control his Beast Soul's abilities. That's why she is curious what he can do once he gains full control over it and becomes stronger.
Anyway, although the Magic Council has already captured most of the involved people, there are still some who manage to escape.
One of them is Brain, the Head of the Bureau of Magical Development. Alex thinks he has heard that name somewhere, but he can't remember who it is.
So he just notes to himself to be cautious of this Brain guy. Though if they meet, Alex will surely want to rip him apart because he is the main reason why Alex suffered that much.
Brain and some of those who escaped are now wanted by the Magic Council. They can't do anything until those guys are found and caught, so there's nothing Alex can do.
That's why he decides to just enjoy his life in Ur's house while thinking of what he wants to do in the future.
Doing nothing and just living like a normal person doesn't seem to be an option for him. At the very least, the Tailed Beasts won't let him live like that as even now Shukaku keeps pestering him to get stronger.
Also, he knows his life isn't guaranteed if he doesn't have power because there are threats like Zeref and Acnologia that can destroy this whole continent.
Normal people can only hope the calamity won't befall upon them. But if he is strong enough, he can decide his own survival when those calamities come.
Still, for now, he just wants to enjoy his normal life while also increasing his power in peace. His life in Ur's house is something he always wanted when he was detained and tortured for 2 years.
He is enjoying his normal life so much that he forgets about something very important that happens around this time, Deliora's attack.
