The siren stops, and a police car parks not far from the ventilation shaft. Judging from his rank, the man who gets out of the car is a senior colonel.

The man, who appears to be in his forties, has a square face with clear-cut features, which seem to be etched with rigid rules and arrogant merit. Upon seeing the man alight from the car, the surrounding police officers salute him. A man with the rank of Police Chief steps forward and salutes, saying, "Vice Director."

"What's the situation?" the man coldly asked, speaking perfect Chinese.

The Police Chief hurriedly replied, "There's someone in the ventilation shaft; it seems to be the suspect we are after."
