章 74: The First Wave

I was in some serious trouble. Should I just try to play this off?

Finished with their awes, the group soon continued forward, and I tried to act nonchalant, completely ignoring Soren, slowly inching closer to my position.

I obviously didn't react, instead opting to simply walking forward in the silence as we soon exited the city and walked down into the forest outside.

Half of the journey was almost done, and we hadn't faced a single attack since the one before.

I couldn't even tell if it was a good or bad thing. Good because this might be an indication that the academy wasn't coordinating attacks on us, and bad because if they were and we hadn't been attacked for almost half of the way, then we were about to face something very terrible.

Unfortunately, it was a bad scenario.

We hadn't taken the first step in when the air around us grew still, and a heavy silence settled over the forest.
