章 31: Hayami Araya
I continued toward the red dot on the map. I went through an alley, straight ahead, then turned right and saw in front of me three boys pushing a girl into a corner.
She looked just like I remembered Araya, only a little more grown up.
They were saying to her the same things I heard over and over. 'Come with us, beauty', 'you'll have fun with us', 'we will not hurt you', the usual.
"Oi, let her go." I said.
"Oh? There's another girl here? And she's from the other planet too." Said one of the boys.
A girl, huh? I'll fucking show them what this 'girl' is made of.
"I will not say it again, this is your last chance. Let her go."
"And what are you going to do if we do not?" he said as he stepped closer to me.
He tried to grab my hand but I dodged him and with a smile I put my left hand on the back of his neck and my right foot near his and with a quick motion I made him spin in the air and slammed him into a wall with one punch.
One of the others took a plasma pistol out of his pocket and pointed it at me.
How and why did he have a gun? I am pretty sure that's illegal.
"Do not come here or I'll shoot you." He said.
I was not scared at all because I am currently an undying being and feel no pain at all.
So I kept walking. To be honest, I do not think he will shoot me. He would be a murderer if I was to die.
But I was wrong. He pulled the trigger as soon as I got closer to him. I saw again the same kind of hologram that had appeared that time in the hospital.
It showed the beam coming toward me and hitting me in the right eye. What is actually happening here? Can I predict what will happen in the future?
I held my right hand into the beam to block it. It really went in the direction the hologram was showing, but it went through my palm and eye and caused a hole in my palm and head that extended to the other side.
He thought he had killed me because I stopped moving. He dropped the gun and got ready to get out of there.
I decided to have some fun and pretended I was really dead and slumped to the ground.
As soon as they came near me to escape, I grabbed their feet with my hands and dropped them to the ground.
I stood up and looked at them. I could see the fear in their eyes.
"W-what are you?
"You do not need to know." I said smiling as my wounds began to heal.
"Y-you monster."
"Who knows? Maybe I am." said I, knocking them both unconscious.
I turned to my left and walked towards the girl. As soon as she saw me approaching her, she lunged and grabbed the gun that was on the ground.
'D-don't come here. Or I'll kill myself." she said, pointing the gun at her head.
"Oi, oi, calm down, I am not going to hurt you."
"That's what they also said."
"I promise you, I just want to ask you a few questions."
"Are you sure this is the only thing you want?"
"Yes, yes, I promise I will not hurt you."
As soon as I saw her lower her gun, I slowly approached her.
"You are a girl? Fuuu, I thought you were a boy."
I am used to it, I am used to it, there's no reason for me to get angry.
"Yes, so do not worry, I am not one of them. Now for my question, do you know a girl named Araya Hayami?"
"Yes, that's me. How can I help you?"
"You are Araya?"
"Yep."
"I see, do you know a boy named Shinji Tokihiro?"

I took her out of the alley and we began a walk around town while I explained everything that had happened from the beginning.
I was getting tired of telling the same story over and over again. Let us hope this will be the last time.
After I finished telling my story, she suddenly stopped in the middle of the street.

"Yeah..."
"Very well, I already owe you my life. I guess I can repay you that much."

"Hey, hey, do not be like that. We are friends after all." She said and shook me with her left arm.
"Well, follow me then, let us go to my house."

So I followed her through the city. We passed skyscrapers, huge shopping malls and some major league companies.
And finally we arrived. Her house was the same size as Miko's. Painted white, with a big garden and a fountain in the middle of the yard.
To be honest, I had forgotten that we were underground, because of the city's ceiling which was made of large panels that imitated the weather conditions from the surface. Truly an amazing invention and very practical.
The house had two floors. We went inside and walked to the second floor where Araya's room was.
"Your parents are not here?"
"No, they work all the time, so I am alone almost every day. Pretty boring when you have nothing to do."
"Mmm, I see. Well, you'll have me for a while then."
"Ha, I'll take that opportunity then."
"What do you mean by that?"
"Nothing, nothing, do not mind me. All right, then, sit down here." She pointed to the chair in front of her desk.
I sat down and watched her approach me with a syringe in her hand.
She drew my blood and for the first time I saw what it looked like after the mutation. The colour was black and it was a bit thick.
She filled it into a small white device that looked pretty high-tech.
"All right, the results will be in a day."
"That fast? I thought it would take at least a week."
"What, no, of course not. If it took a week, we'd be no further ahead than you technologically."
"But we still have not found a cure."
"It does not matter. I said the results will be in tomorrow. We have thirty-one hours until then. What are you going to do?"
Oh yes, I had forgotten that time runs differently here.
"Um, I do not know. Maybe show me around the city?"
"Oh yeah, great idea. I guess you do not remember much from your first time here. Let me show you the town again." She said, grabbing my hand and pulling me out of the house.
Who knows what will happen or who I will meet here. After all, it is a new place for me. Let us see what the future holds for me.
