"Well in our family, we believe it's a respectful thing to do after impregnating someone," Daniel shrugged, "Especially Malia who had so much potential. The man should lead and make sure to provide for his child and wife."

The word 'wife' immediately made me sweat as I glanced at Malia then looked at Nika hoping she would take me out of the situation but she seemed just as tongue tied as me. Naturally in any situation when I was confronted with a topic that made me feel uncomfortable I shut down. 

"I think I need the bathroom," I nervously chuckled and took the napkin covering my lap off, folded it neatly, placed it on the table then faced Malia, "Do you mind showing me where the bathroom is Malia?"

She nodded quickly. We both stood up and she led me into the house. "Demyan-"
