章 3: VERA
We followed the scent until it led us to a human girl. The girl was taking water from the lake. Her hand had a dark aura surrounding it. She moved her lips saying something but we were to far out to hear. Suddenly the water started glowing and the girl drank it. I was shocked by the girl's actions. She was a witch. It was my first seeing a witch in action.
The girl turned around after noticing us causing Wanda to reveal her claws.
"Who are you?", Wanda asked menacingly.
"I'm Iris, I came to Espheus looking for someone. You guys are actually the first people I've seen here", Iris replied.
"How did you get in here?", I asked. Espheus was surrounded by an invisible barrier that prevented intruders from coming in. One would need a special mark to enter.
"I used witchcraft to be able to enter the barrier", she replied.
She explained her entire dilemma about her missing parents.
"I don't believe you", Wanda replied.
" I don't need you to believe me, I just need to find my parents."
"You won't be allowed into Espheus unless you are a white witch. White witches use their witchcraft without hurting others while black witches use their witchcraft to hurt others. ", I explained to her.
" But how will she prove she's a white witch? ", Wanda asked.
" I only need to stay in Espheus long enough to find out my parents' whereabouts. "
" But since you passed through the barrier without a mark, you'll be marked as an intruder. Soon, forces will be here after you. If you can't prove you're a white witch, you might be banished or worse, killed. ", I told her.
Just as I finished my sentence, the forces arrived. Iris didn't budge when they took her away. She would have a hard time proving she wasn't a black witch.
