I was bored sitting at home doing nothing. We had gone back to my house to stay. It was the safest place for now.
I stood up to announce that I was going to the supermarket.
"I'm going to the supermarket to shop for food items. Most of the ones I had have gone bad. Make sure not to draw attention here."
It had been long since I felt the sun on my skin. The barrier surrounded Espheus didn't let sun rays through so it was usually dark.
If things were different, I would have thought this was a perfect day. But now, the world felt bleak now that I knew my parents were dead.
My parents were the only people that mattered to me in the whole world. For the past eighteen years, I had spent all my life with only them. It was only after they went missing that I started socializing with others.
I headed to checkout my items. I knew the cashier, Eric. I was trying to avoid contact with anyone to prevent any questions. If only self checkout was available.
"Where were you Iris? We were all worried about you. We thought you'd done something drastic since your parents are well you know, um missing. "
" Hmmm. " I tried to prevent moving the conversation forward to avoid going into details.
" Why are you buying so many groceries? You live alone. "
I only chuckled slightly before I left. I felt a little bad for not replying him properly. Eric meant no harm, he was just worried about me.
I arrived home with the groceries and prepared dinner. We all ate in silence brooding over what had happened yesterday.
I felt uncomfortable doing nothing and just sitting around. We need a plan.
"So, what are we planning on doing?" It was Mai that spoke. It seemed that I wasn't the only one fed up with doing nothing.
"We can't fight the black witches alone, we will need help." Draco replied her.
" What about the forces in Espheus, I'm sure they won't let the Witch take over Espheus easily. " I asked.
" They might not be able to hold them off for long. The witches probably planned ahead. Besides, with the Council gone, Espheus will be in disarray and won't be able to fight back easily. " Wayne replied.
" So, we just need the Council members back and some help to stop the witches. "
Before I could reply Vera, we heard a knock on the door.
