Chapter 118: Struggle and Confusion
In a daring act of defiance, Howl provoked the ominous entity, a decision that would lead him to his own demise. Having a pistol aimed at the enemy with his warring words of taunts only to shoot his own feet and fall into the same pit, served to hasten his downfall.
Despite the searing pain that consumed him, Howl feigned indifference. A thought, as sharp as the pain itself, pierced his mind. "You… you damnable creature… Why are you biting me so much? do you also harbor a preference for men—aaaargh!" His voice, raspy and strained, echoed his torment as he felt another bite.
"If I survive this ordeal… I will hunt you down and I will… retaliate and bite you to death… to even the score!"
Howl persisted, digging deeper into the abyss. The dark entity, akin to an iron rod, impaled him, its slick form burrowing into his flesh like a child curiously exploring a spring toy, pulling out his entrails to be precise.
