章 21: Epilogue: Short Slumber
A/N: Hello, Author-san here! First, I apologize for the late update. Because the school started, I became a bit busy and haven't had the chance to post. But don't worry I won't drop this.
Secondly, I thank those who still supports me. I am writing just for my hobby and I get no money from this. Just knowing that someone reads my work already provide me plenty of motivation to continue 😁.
And last but not the least, this is the last chapter of Volume 1. The next chapters would be all about what happened after the Petrification Event. Nathalia and co would also start interacting with other characters from Dr. Stone, but mainly the adult ones (hehe think about who they are 😉). Sorry for the wait and I know you all waited for the Petrification part. This is just starting and there's still a long road ahead.

Nathalia continued to crawl slowly. As long as she reach the stairs, she'll be able to escape from this shit place. There's only four meters between her and the stairs.
Although she continued to put up a fight, deep in her heart, she already knows. She'll die soon. She will bleed out to death.
Tears slowly fell from her eyes as she continued to crawl. She can't accept this. She pounded the ground with her fist in anger.
Just as she can finally go and reunite with her long lost childhood friend. Just as she can finally talk to her and say that! She can't accept this!
Unknowingly as she continued to crawl and inevitably try to escape her fate, she saw a flash of green light in the corner of her eyes which she didn't put her attention to.
But all of a sudden... darkness. Her vision went dark. And Nathalia... sunk into despair.
'I CAN'T DIE AGAIN!'
~ " . . . " ~
Silence.
The once loud and cheery laughs and cheers of people in the stadium vanished. Concerts, internet cafes, karaokes, and more were silenced. People seemingly vanished from the face of the earth as their stone statues replaced them.
After that flash of green light that engulfed the whole world subsided, the world was graced with eerie silence. But this only lasted for a few seconds... before the whole world was engulfed in chaos.
*Boom!*
Planes and any aircraft dropped like flies with no one to pilot them. Vehicle collisions happened in countless parts of the world, bringing spontaneous explosions that lit up the cities like new year.
The Earth fell into chaos in the sudden absence of the humans, once on top of the food chain, suddenly petrified by an unknown phenomenon that enveloped the world.

'FUUUUUCKK!!!! WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED!!!'
Contrary to what she expected, she still has consciousness. Even though she expected to die, based on her experience (welp she died once so...) dying is losing consciousness and then nothingness until you get reincarnated. But right now there's nothing but void of darkness around her.
'If I didn't die, then am I in a coma?'
Based on her condition, it really is possible for her to be in a coma. The internet depicted being in a coma to be a person with consciousness sleeping and trapped in their own bodies. She can't move a bit and she feels trapped, it all checks out.
'Looks like in really in a coma... when will I wake up or would I even—'

'It has been about a week... I don't know the specific time but I think it's already been a week... How long would I have to wait for some god or devil or whatever to take me out of here?'
In the past week or so that she spent in this eternal darkness, she did what she could to alleviate her boredom. She sang the songs she could remember, tried to remember the stories she read in her past life and heck, she even thought about the philosophy of life.
She knew she hasn't been here for more than two weeks but it felt like a millennia had passed in the time she spent here.
'...sigh. I don't even fucking know what happened to them... mom... Alec... Alexa...'
Nathalia's been here for too long and she worried that something bad would happen to them. She then thought about her...
'Julienne...'

|| A week earlier, a few minutes before the green flash of light ||
*Bang*
"Alec! Let me go!" Alexa fought hard and tried to escape from Alec's grasp with her eyes red and swollen.
"No! Nathalia said we have to wait here! I also want to but—"
"Are you going to let her die just like that?! How can you—?!"
"I ALSO WANT TO GO!!! BUT... I... I want to trust her... Let's wait for her." Alec averted his gaze from his sister and looked at Julienne who was still unconscious.
Alexa didn't fight anymore and cried in his arms. He tried to calm her down while he looked at the stairs anxiously.
Just then, as he was looking out, he saw a flash of green light growing increasingly brighter. Then he saw the light suddenly pierce the walls and start to come to their position.
In shock and in a panic, he went in front and hugged his sister. He experienced plenty of paranormal things in his short life due to Nathalia. He instinctively tried to protect his sister in the face of an anomaly.
"What are you—"
These words were the last things Alec heard before... his vision went dark and his surroundings fell into silence.
