Mu Chuqing giggled. "Who said I would have children with you?"
Sheng Yuchen's face changed. He took a few large strides and stood in front of Mu Chuqing, as his hand clutched her neck tightly and his eyes darkening in a menacing glare.
"Say that again?!"
Mu Chuqing broke into a radiant smile. She reached up and bit by bit pried open Sheng Yuchen's fingers away from her neck.
She tore up the two agreements Sheng Yuchen had thrown at her a while ago and flung them in the air, allowing the shreds of paper to fall and litter around on the floor.
Sheng Yuchen's arms on either side of his body felt heavy. His hands involuntarily clutched tightly into fists.
Mu Chuqing watched the last shred of paper fall to the ground, then pulled out a piece of paper from under her pillow. Imitating Sheng Yuchen's actions, she flung the document towards him. She bore with the pain in her body and stood up from the bed.
"Get out. The house, car, and money, I don't want any of it, including you!"
Sheng Yuchen was thunderstruck. He looked down at the divorce agreement in his hands with Mu Chuqing's sign already inscribed on it.
At that moment, as Sheng Yuchen saw Mu Chuqing already picking up the suitcases packed and piled by the bedroom door, a glimmer of panic glided across his eyes. He stepped forward and tightly pulled on her arm.
"Where are you going?"
Mu Chuqing shook Sheng Yuchen's hand away roughly. "Get out!"
The pain shooting through Mu Chuqing's body was akin to her insides being torn into shreds. But it was only a fraction of the pain felt by her wound-riddled heart.
Sheng Yuchen's tall and slender figure suddenly froze for a few seconds, unable to respond. This woman had always been gentle and compliant to him. Now she wanted him to "Get out"?
By the time he regained his senses, Mu Chuqing's frail figure had just staggered out of the elevator, and she was now walking towards the villa's entrance.
"Madam?"
A row of bodyguards with towering figures and uniformly dressed in black suits stood at the entrance. As Mu Chuqing approached, they bowed slightly in unison. Zuo Yi, the head bodyguard, was puzzled, seeing the suitcases she dragged in tow and took a step towards her.
"Zuo Yi, stop her!"
Sheng Yuchen's tall figure stood at the railing on the third floor of the villa, looking majestic and superior. His handsome and flawless face exuded the charisma of an emperor commanding his army, except that this time, one could feel hints of panic in his simple and abrupt command.
Mu Chuqing was stunned. She hurriedly attempted to rush out of the gates with her luggage. By the time Zuo Yi realized what was happening, Mu Chuqing had already stepped out of the gates.
"Don't let Madam leave!" Zuo Yi shouted in alarm, hastily commanding other bodyguards.
A row of bodyguards stepped forward and blocked Mu Chuqing's way. A powerful and resounding chorus sounded out, "Madam, please return to the villa!"
"Get out of my way!"
Mu Chuqing snarled coldly in a low voice, but the row of bodyguards in front of her had unified, stoic expressions, and did not respond nor gave way.
The rain hit Mu Chuqing's body, bringing about a gust of wind, making her shudder.
The sound of footsteps rang out from behind her, getting closer and louder with every step.
To Mu Chuqing, they sounded like the devil's footsteps, and she was trembling all over with her fright. Feeling desperate, she dashed into the heavy downpour, enduring the pain shooting through the bones in her body. She ran desperately for her life.
However, she was not a match for the man's long strides and agility. Suddenly, her body was off the ground from behind, and no matter how Mu Chuqing struggled, she failed to break away from the man's powerful arms.
The next thing she knew, she was inside the third-floor bedroom, thrown onto the bed by Sheng Yuchen.
Immediately afterward, Sheng Yuchen's powerful body pressed upon hers. He was panting angrily, his eyes were bloodshot, and his large, muscular hand was tightly seizing her neck. He spoke in a terrifying voice.
"What are you trying to do? Where were you thinking of going? Mu Chuqing, you made a mess, and you want to get away scot-free? Such wishful thinking…"
