章 140: Chapter 78 - I Choose Death
"This place is picturesque," Aransae stood atop the mountain that loomed over the valley. There was a bit of snow and ice on the peak, the rocky slopes spread out like snakes.
The greenery at the base sharply contrasted the bareness of the summit. Along with the clear blue sky and wisps of clouds.
"Who would think there is a monster's body resting here," Eve sat on the top of the mountain. The breeze hitting her face.
She took a deep breath, closing her eyes, feeling the mountain beneath her hands as she adjusted her pose.
Aransae scratched his cheek, "I don't like coming out of that world. My emotions are so erratic. What do you want here?"
"Did you know there is a war ongoing here?"
"No. The three Genin I met didn't say anything about war," Aransae shook his head.
"No, there is Third Great Ninja War going on. The problem is my Level is about Level 20. I haven't even had the time to Master Chakra. Even with my vampiric powers the most I can take care of are Chunin and Weaker Jonins. Elite Jonins, Kages, Legendary Ninjas are way out of my reach. Which means Eve will be in danger," Aurum stared at the mountain below his feet.
"You want me to take her?"
"No. I am not going," Eve pouted.
"No, I don't. There is a body of a monster under this mountain. I am going to set my Vampire Lord body at its core and reshape this body. It has a ghost army, which I am going to turn into a monster army. I need you to connect this body to the monster inside, then take my mind along with Eve and chose a body from the war. Take the body of the strongest person who dies in the war."
"And my soul..." Aurum smirked, "Let it reincarnate."
"Huh…wait, are you telling me to kill you?"
"I said the same thing. But he won't listen to me," Eve pouted.
Aurum danced his eyes over them. He smiled, turning his head towards the mountains, "Desires are a strange thing. They can drive you, change you, destroy you, lift you up, make you twisted...or ...peaceful. I have always had two desires. The desire to learn everything. And the desire to fight everything. Arcus, my desire to fight. Aurelius, my desire to learn. Aurum...I am curious...who am I? Without my two desires? Will I be anything special? Or just someone mundane."
Aurum narrowed his eyes, "Use your threads. Connect Arcus and this body to the monster. Use Aurelius and my mind to a powerful ninja's body. And my soul...let it reincarnate. I want to know...who Aurum is."
"You said you are Aurum," Eve raised her voice, "You were always sure who you were!"
"I am Aurum. I am sure of that. I am the man who reached closest to perfection. But Eve..." Aurum breathed out, raising his head to look towards the blue sky, "Arcus and Aurelius...both my desires took me to this finish line."
He raised his hand to reach out for the sky, "to cross it. I need Aurum. I need to know…my values and me."
Eve bit her lips, turning her face away from him. She raised her legs, resting her hands on them, burying her face in it.
Aurum walked down from the peak, stepping closer to her. He clasped her cheek. He looked into her eyes, gently planting a kiss on her forehead, "I'll be with you...almost..."
Eve lowered her head, resting her head on his forehead, "Ok."
Aurum put his hand inside his pocket, taking out a blood-filled bottle that he pushed inside her cleavage, "Keep that safe. It would be necessary for the second body."
Aransae crouched in front of Eve, staring into her eyes, "why? Why won't you say anything."
"And you, unlike me, you know why she isn't saying anything. Why would you let her."
Aurum stroked Eve's head, calmly stroking her hair, "this is necessary."
"For what? To fight against me? I don't care about that. We don't need to fight," Aransae shook his head.
"Tell me, Aransae…if you have all the power in the world. What would you use it for?"
"If I had all the power in the world…I almost have all the power in the world."
"And what do you use it for…"
Aransae shook his head, unable to understand that question, "Um…I don't know…"
"That's because you don't. That power uses you. That power changes the world, and you survive in it," Aurum patted his head, "I am driven by three desires. Arcus, the Desire to Fight, to best everyone and everything. Aurelius, the desire for peace and to learn. And Aurum…the desire to protect Eve."
"She won't say anything because my life is around her, to protect her. My desires were born because that is what I needed to protect her. That is why I want to know…if someday…when I am strong enough to protect her from everything. With that power…what will I do with all that power? I find it scary…so should you. When I am born again…with my soul bare in front of you. If I am Evil. Kill me."
"That's what this is about. This is what's necessary."
"I don't get it," Aransae shook his head. He could see the crushing sadness on Eve's face, her grief, and clutched his chest, "I won't do it."
"Please, I need to know."
"Just do it…" Eve let out a helpless sigh. She raised her head to give him a saddened smile, "I swear. He'll get what he wants. Better you than any other stupid way…"
Aransae lowered his head, "I don't want to…"
Eve gently put her arms around him, giving him a hug, "Neither do I."
Occult Club,
"So, did you it?"
Aransae raised his head, darting his eyes around the room. From Koneko sitting o the floor, between his legs. Rias leaning all over him. Akeno sitting on the couch's arm. Kiba standing behind the other couch, Gasper sitting at the corner of the room. Issei on the chair. Irina and Asia on the couch in front of him, Xenovia on the floor, and Ravel sitting beside Rias.
He let the suspense simmer a little longer, "Yes. I did."
"No way to divide a person into three?" Xenovia widened her eyes.
"He's crazy," Rias sighed, "I am not even surprised at his antics."
"Ara ara, same here," Akeno chuckled, "I feel bad for Eve who gets put through all this stuff."
"Master~!"
"Issei-san, the way you call out to Master is creepy," Kiba commented.
"It's not!" Issei knelt in front of Aransae, looking at him with begging eyes, praying, "Master~! Everyone who saw her says Eve's the most beautiful girl in the world. Please! I want to see her too!"
"Issei-san..." Asia cast a disappointed gaze at Issei.
"Pervert-senpai," Koneko shot a sharp look at him, kissing him in the shin.
"Hmph, you'll get yourself killed," Ravel scoffed, "that bastard might be divided into three but I can bet he will kill you the moment you lay your eyes on her. Right Irina?"
Irina pressed her lips, "Absolutely. Master...what kind of body did you put his mind in?"
"I didn't. I use the experience of a dead Kage. His skills, and blood, while using Aurum's mind to shape a body. I can do that stuff now," Aransae softly spoke, "Anyway, Issei. Wait a little...I am not sure if all his inhibitions won't break down now that he got divided into three. Eve's too. Maybe then."
"Yes! I will wait!"
Rias patted Issei's head, praising him, "Good boy."
Issei happily grinned, as Rias raised her head to look at her Master, "Master...big brother sent a message that he wants to meet you and Grayfia is coming. Come home with us tonight?"
"I'll be there about midnight. I am going to put the finishing touches of my territory inside the town," Aransae kissed her lips, "For now. You should all be off to your duties."
"Master, Asia and I have been called by that pig again, would you help us with our request?"
"Sure," Aransae stroked his head, "call me when the request starts."
"Thank you, Master," Koneko got up, kissing his cheek, "Asia, let's go."
"Yes," Asia stumbled forward, walking behind Koneko. She stopped, running back to Aransae. She kissed his cheeks, "Bye, Master."
"Bye," Aransae waved his hand, "What about others?"
"I am doing mine from my room," Gasper sneaked off from the club room.
"My mother asked for me again," Akeno rolled her eyes, "I am going to listen to her request."
Akeno bent forward, strongly kissing his lips, pushing her tongue inside. He slid his tongue to meet hers, letting her lips push into his, feeling her hand run up his thigh. He broke the kiss, pushing her hips away, stroking his hands on her thighs, "Ok. See you in the morning."
"I have a good client too," Issei snickered, "I'll be off."
"Master, a group of women have called me. They are all my clients that I brought together. Would you like to join?" Kiba hopefully asked.
"A group of women. That's perfect. There is something I need to try. I'll be there."
"We are still looking for a job," Irina and Xenovia both came to him, sharing a kiss before leaving to find more jobs. Leaving only him and Rias in the room.
"What about you?"
"Wherever you want me, Master," Rias rested her head against his shoulders, "is there anything you want done...?"
"Not yet..." Aransae shook his head, "let me thinking about it."
"Yes Master, take your time," Rias kissed the nape of his neck. She closed her eyes, resting, "take your time..."
